This is generally true in the West. Bush is essentially an Eastern Republican (as in east of the Rockies), and unfortunately doesn't represent many of the values that Eastern Republicans typically share with the Western Republicans. There is substantial evidence that Western Republicans favor much more libertarian Republicans than seems to be favored east of the Rockies. Bush is a long way from a libertarian-ish Republican candidate.
Bush's only saving grace is that Kerry is no substitute -- arguably one of the worst possible candidates for the Democrats. Bush may not represent the small-government libertarian values of the conservative mountain West, but that New England elitist snob assclown routine of Kerry's is intolerable in its own right, never mind his policies.
Electoral-Vote.Com has it 280 Kerry / 254 Bush.

Only if you give Kerry Ohio, Iowa and WI, all of which we are ahead in .
I've been looking at ALL the polls. Real Clear Politics shows the average of virtually EVERY poll there is.
Great site. I put it in my favorites.
Thanks!
The latest polls show no bump from the last debate; this map is old.
This is extremely disturbing and shows Dubya is NOT resonating with undecideds.
Kerry may win.....and this is very scary.
Nader is barely getting anybody this time around. He won't help.
Yes, but your Freeper Flag shows New Mexico.
If your circle of acquaintance regarding these votes is limited to this state, ...(grin)
That's why anecdote isn't the singular of data.
