DNC Files FEC Complaint Against Sinclair Broadcasting
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe and DNC Legal Counsel Joe Sandler will host a conference call today at 1:30 PM ET to announce the DNC's decision to file an FEC complaint against Sinclair Broadcasting's illegal in-kind contribution to the Bush-Cheney campaign.
..."illegal in-kind contribution" sounds like it might have legs.
It might have legs if the movie was pro-Bush which it is not. It does not advocate the election of anyone and therefore is not a "contribution". The FEC is going to have to apply the same logic (i.e. "anti-Peter" does not equal "pro-Paul") that it employed in it's decison regarding 527s earlier this year.

You sound like a lawyer. Or, you sound like you're thinking like one. It's too clever by half to say that your full-length movie is not pro-Bush because it spends all its time slamming Kerry.
I'm not a lawyer. I was just pointing out the reasoning the FEC used earlier this year which I would imagine they'll have abide by regarding this issue.
How is being anti-Kerry any more pro-Bush than it is pro-Nader? Or "pro" any of the others seeking the Presidency?

Well, we might be looking at the same thing through the same eyes...but coming up with different results. For me, I'm saying screw them, go to hell, etc....but I see how their argument might work (especially factoring in how our side too often wants to APPEAR "fair," usually self-inflicting unnecessary wounds).
