Watch the crowd reacting to Kerry and Bush!

Posted on 10/08/2004 7:43:05 PM PDT by Ron/GA

Few people are approaching Kerry and everyone is crowding around Bush. Looks like a political statement to me!

The ones around Kerry are family & friends. "You crashed and burned tonight, John."

I was especially impressed that when the President had a response he didn't let Gibson in to water down the question. he was great tonight!

You should have watched. Kerry's body language started out very confident but deteriorated dramatically as the debate continued. He knew he was losing it and that he could no longer use debating techniques to ovewhelm the President. If he had not been someone who has lied and fooled so many people all these years, I would have felt sorry for him.

I listened to the first half hour on the car and was cheering. When I got home I saw the rest on television and was cheering. Listening or watching, he was magnificent!

Man! So right!

The weasel Kerry mentioned Tereaza during the debate, but ignored her during the mosh pit gathering at the end of the debate..........she looooooooooooooked soooooooooo pissed!

Also, even, maybe Kerry supporters held their physical distance.

Bush? He, and Laura, pressed flesh.

Damn that was nice to see!

Kerry was talking to his Buddy Gibson and Bush was talking to the crowd. Kerry saw it and ran out to the crowd.

Did Gibson wink at Kerry after the debate, like Lehrer did?

Look at the polls and it says Kerry won. THe libs are freeping the polls. Hopefully the American people are smart enough to realize Bush kicked Kerry's butt big time. The stories tomorrow will show Kerry won. God, I hate the main stream media. They suck !!

I was yelling at the President when he closed to reiterate Kerry's vote against the Gulf War in 1991. That would surely have been the coup de grace!

Bush should bring it up regardless of the theme or questions for the next debate. It's a Neutron bomb against Kerry.

I loved Kerry's stammering with the abortion and stem cell questions!

As it just ended, I realized that many of the people around Kerry were his secret service detail. It was actually worse that it appeared!

Kerry attacked too much because he doesn't have anything real to offer the American public. What a dork!

The Fox-n-Tators are pretty much calling it a draw. Were they watching the same debate I was? Yes, Bush could've (and should've) mentioned the Gulf War opposition by Kerry, but isn't that what the campaign should've been doing for months now?!? Come on guys! Bush did light years better than last week and I believe that more people appreciate straightforwardness than "nuance"!

I counted 3 times where Kerry tried to change the subject. Bush was ready and didn't run around the landscape before the 1st debate.

"Tell me three of your worst mistakes."

I thought Bush handled it brilliantly, though and it produced one of the more memorable quotes of the night: "I'm sure I've made some mistakes. Some of the people I appointed... I'm not going to say who and embarrass them on national television... but I'll let history judge."

Perfect answer.

I'm sure he was thinking: "One of my mistakes was even bothering to try to work with Ted Kennedy.

I just announced to my husband that I have a plan to clean the house and lose 30 pounds. ;)

Until tonight I never once regretted not owning a horse, but I really would like to send fresh, warm, fragrant sacks of manure to Senators Hagle and Lugar.
