Tonight was a well-played debate. The president took a bit to warm up but, over the past hour, he's been about as good as he can be, honestly.
If viewers came into this debate looking for a weak G Dub, they come away impressed, IMO.
Very, very good. We got some good, red-meat, conservative v. liberal parry and thrust tonight.
Honestly, I thing the excellence of this debate was driven by the quality of the questions, which were far more balanced than debate one.

He called that woman ma'am. In Texas, that sometimes means, "Bitch." As in me saying to my cat, "You think you're climbing those bookshelves? NO MA'AM, YOU'RE NOT!!!"
"Kerry complains..." that troops weren't funded, yet he voted against funding. GOOD. Kerry repeats he made a mistake in his famous before/after quote, but Pres. made mistake in invading Iraq. That exchange goes to GWB.
I though this question would be horrible for Bush. Bush actually did really well with it, and Kerry did horribly with it. Good stuff.
Kerry toasted himself with that last answer.

Kerry: President made a "catastrophic mistake" going into Iraq.

Bush: He complains the troops don't have the equipment but he voted against the funding. He uttered one of the most astounding quotes in political history and cites the $87 billion.
Kerry says he made a mistake in the way he stated that but the president made a mistake in going in. Richest shoudl pay.

Bush has great rebuttal to Kerry's complaint Bush made mistakes on military equipment, saying Kerry voted against the funding. Talks about Kerry uttering one of the most remarkable statements in history.
Kerry using same line from the other night about mistake about talking about the supplemental bill.
My husband is still screaming about Gibson using that question. GIBSON NEEDS TO HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC. HE TOOK THAT MEMO TO HEART AND LOBBED A BOMB AT THE END.
Only use the tools that you need to do the job. Save good ammunition for other battles.
