My old stomping ground. Went to public school in Hobbs and graduated from Lovington HS. Then was in the first class at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs. Nothing out there but miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles. I miss it.

Out of tickets at 10:30 this morning; still accepting waiting list forms (don't know how that works, however).

Approximately 6,000 tickets snapped up in less than 18 hours!!! Unbelievable!

I called in for them to hold mine this morning. Please tell me this is not true. A man took my information and said he would hold them for me to pick up on Sunday.

Always get a name! They are frazzled down there right now, but you are on the list!

The number of tickets given out was not 6,000 but 10,000, which includes standing room! One person I talked to said the Bush/Cheney campaign staff couldn't believe the frenzy to get tickets.

No tickets yet have actually been distributed, but they must be picked up by Sunday p.m. No tickets given out on Monday. There is a lot of info that the local folks don't have yet, like how is the waiting list going to be handled, etc.

I think he told me his name but I did not get it, but as long as you think I am on the list we got it covered. Did they say they will have tickets tomorrow? The other lady was going to go pick hers and mine up if possible. If not I will get ours on Sunday. I saw Cheney this summer here so I knew it would be way over what they thought. Expect a 3 hour line to get in, to go through screening.

Again, thanks.

You're covered, I saw the form the man you talked with filled out. Actual ticket distribution rules will be apparently dictated by the national campaign, but will start tomorrow at the earliest. For example, no one could tell me if just the person making the application could pick up tickets, or if one of the guests listed on the form could do so. Ditto with someone picking up tickets if their name isn't on the form at all (e.g. you friend picking up yours and hers at the same time). They just don't know right now. (BTW, I got a little more attention when I talked to the man who gave me a yard sign for Steve Pearce yesterday.)
