Fox News' chief political correspondent Carl Cameron's head may yet roll after he submitted a fake, insulting news story about Sen. John Kerry that was posted on FoxNews.com.
At the moment, he's gotten away with only a reprimand.
Last week, you may recall, Cameron fabricated Kerry quotes, such as: "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" and "I'm metrosexual - [George W. Bush] is a cowboy."
Moveon.org is putting the heat on Rupert Murdoch's network by insisting that Cameron is unfit to deliver "fair and balanced" reporting on the election.
The liberal activist group, which boasts a mailing list of more than 2.8 million people, has asked its members to demand that Fox News CEO Roger Ailes oust Cameron.
"This isn't the first time that Carl Cameron has shown his bias," said Moveon.org's Noah Winer. "He spent three minutes fawning over President Bush in an interview in 2000, bragging to him that his wife was hanging out with Bush's sister on the campaign trail."
Fox News didn't return calls for comment.
Meanwhile, small wonder young people are still having trouble voting. Drew Carey is not even going to bother to pull a lever come Nov. 2.
Why? The comic feels the country is run by powerful groups that control whatever candidate he might vote for. "Quit pretending that it matters, would you? Can you vote for all the nefarious cabals that really run the world? No. So f- it," Carey told Reason magazine.
And Penn Gillette told the mag the "moral thing" is not to vote, adding: "I'm undecided (always the stupidest position)." But Gillette noted that a friend would give him 100 bucks if he votes for George Bush, so he might do that. Duh.
Thankfully, Jake Gyllenhaal hasn't lost his passion. "Politics is getting sexier to young people," he told us at Monday night's ACLU benefit. "But voter registration forms need to be places where young people are going to see them."

Roger Ailes and FOX should can him. Not doing so just gives the Left ammunition and potentially removes Rather as a legitimate issue with the public.
I agree that if the shoe was on the other foot we'd be demanding that the offender be hung. But I'd suspend Carl without pay for a couple of months and see if seeBS does the same with Rather. Put the ball in the other court.

Isn't that Noah WHINER!
Was moveon.org outraged over Rathergate? Didn't think so. They are the biggest bunch of hypocrites the world has ever seen.
Good idea!
I'm reminded of what NASCAR did after Dale Jr. used a bit of profanity after his win on Sunday. They didn't wait around to read the tea leaves and see what the FCC was going to do like CBS did after the Halftime Show earlier this year. NASCAR was pro-active. Roger Ailes needs to be.
*GAG* *CHOKE* *COUGH*.
I think they should fire him! That way he can be Bush press secretary in the next 4 years .
I will be ticked off if FNC fires Carl.
The left fabricates entire documents and NOTHING has happened to anyone at CBS.
Like you HAVE to give the left ammunition. They make their own. And any comparison with what Cameron did to what Rather did is ludicrous.
vaudine
Of course it's ludicrous, but it's perceptions that matter at the margins.
Well, hate to agree with the writers, but they have a point. We can't say that SeeBS and the MSM are wrong for their anti-Bush stance then turn around in mid-stream and selectively decide to apply liberal rules of 'journalism' that suit our purpose at the moment.
Either we stand for ethical, true, fair and balanced news all the time, or we are liberals who pick and choose when it is right ti apply ethics and morals - even when it hurts one of our own.
This is war, partner. We have been giving up our people every time the left whistles for sixty years. NO MORE.
"our people?"
I have no loyalty to any of 'em.
You are certainly free to think this, but it would be WRONG to fire Carl. This is exactly what the libs want, and they depend on thinkers like yourself to promote their psy-ops campaigns within our party.
Don't hold your breath waiting for Carl's unemployment... you might turn blue.

Sorry, I disagree. Carl shouldn't be fired. He didn't report this on air. He didn't use fake documents. He didn't try to destroy anyone or alter an election. This (his report with added true comical comments)was accidentally posted on the Fox News website.
NASCAR went overboard with Dale Jr. Fine him for the profanity, but they shouldn't have taken points away.
I thought I knew Fox but I'm not so sure anymore, so I won't venture to guess whether they'll throw Carl to the wolves or not. But one thing I DO know and that is even if they were to fire him, this would not compel anyone to fire Rather in return. Those people on the left have no morals, no conscience, no sense of right and wrong. To them, firing Cameron is justified but that has nothing to do with Rathergate.
Ok, don't fire him and don't suspend him, as mentioned earlier, and he will become the brunt of the late night shows and he'll die a slower on-air death and drag the rest of the network down in the process. You watch!
I should have said, " . . or don't suspend him . . "
This is no different than when President Reagan said on an open mike that we would start bombing the Soviet Union in 30 minutes. It was a gag to release some tension and it accidentally got posted. Have you seen the commercial where the guy accidentally sends a disgusting e-mail about the boss to the whole office, including the boss? The guy just says "Thanks" and all is good. Carl should just tell MoveOn.org "Thanks."
"Ok, don't fire him and don't suspend him, as mentioned earlier, and he will become the brunt of the late night shows and he'll die a slower on-air death and drag the rest of the network down in the process. You watch"!
The people behind this dren have worked to destroy FoxNews in every way that they can (lawsuits, injunctions, protests etc). It ain't workin'!
I do however appreciate the humor that started my day! Thanks!
