"I'm STILL convinced that to an extent Bush "sandbagged" last week in order to draw out of Kerry certain lines and positions that Bush and Cheney could use to hammer him with, and Kerry obliged. "

I agree with you.

In my mind, John Kerry has been making the same speech -- just changing the countries -- since Senior Day at Yale when he trashed Lyndon Johnson about Vietnam.

Not exactly the same........nowadays he only trashes Nixon about Vietnam.

Here is the info from U.S. Newswire - I don't think it will be televised but with the liberal main stream media it just may be televised.

Bush hammered Kerry. Of course, the networks will say that Bush is being mean and nasty. That's what they always say when the truth is told about their DemonRat candidates.

Good, enthusiastic speech. But, where's the big news from this major speech? I'm disappointed

It's a much better written stump speech, but I tend to agree with you: there's nothing new in the speech. But the speech itself has been substantially reworked--although I do think the speechwriters could do a smoother transition between the serious terrorism stuff and the criticism of Kerry.

How wrong is this? I'm all happy from the President's speech and all of a sudden, FOX news has a sound bite from Kerry. Yuck... get that voice off the air.

and the most telling thing is that Brian Williams, future leader of the NBC news department, HAD to look at that clip and decide to leave out the part where Cheney denied the very thing they are accusing him of.

That's exactly right. This wasn't a slip up, or something taken out of context. Brian Williams and friends made a conscious decision to deliberately misrepresent a position of the Vice President's.

Did they fall asleep during the whole Dan Rather debacle?

I was hoping to hear pundits talk about his speech today but CNN and MSNBC are discussing the decision against Rush. Timing is terrible!

I'd love to hear that! Have you noticed how many kids show up at the Bush/Cheny campaign stops? I'd say a whole lot of folks are raising Little Republicans!

One phrase I hope the Bush people use over and over again is, "We will not cut and run." This generated a "psychological" gasp and an excited laudatory response when the President used it.

"We will not cut and run" is a political double- entendre'. Besides meaning what it says it also implies the opposition are cowards. Bravo Jorge Bush!

Last night when Edwards was saying at the end of the debate, "Do you EVER remember this country being as divided as it is right now," I was SCREAMING at the TV

"Yes, and it was John Kerry's fault back then, too!!!"

I was just standing at Foxnews to listen, W did great. As he finished I clapped and was walking away, some Dim walks up to me and says "we're in trouble if he gets reelcted" I asked why and he says becase we're losing troops. I stopped and pointed down the Avenue of the Americas. I stated clearly that we are missing 2 very big buildings and nearly 3,000 people. Then I told him that if Kerry gets in there, there will be more. 4 more years folks, 4 more please. God Bless our troops

Fox seems to be swining the other way lately. The need to change their slogan to "Fairly Unbalanced".
