What happens if the high res film shows Kerry had a piece of paper? The Kerry people will say it was a tissue. If the high res film proves it wasn't a tissue, Kerry will claim it was a dry cleaning tag.

In order for it to make any difference, there'd need to be solid proof of what the paper contained. I don't see any way we will ever know the truth.

No, Kerry has already said it was a pen.

It being paper would be enough for some people. This election hinges on a few undecided people. The American people do not like liars and cheats. It may be enough to convince just a few people to vote against Kerry.

Kerry should be able to bring in whatever materials he wants and it still should be a slam dunk to crush this clown, given his words and deeds over the past 30 years. That's where our focus should be. This is the easiest, slam dunk Presidential election for the Republicans in recent history, and the fact that it is even close at this point reflects very poorly on the Bush administration's public relations team.

Does the Fox News images also show the President putting something on his podium or unfolding a piece or paper? They both look like they're doing it.

Nope! They only need to know that he brought SOMETHING, ANYTHING with him. The rules clearly stipulated that the only things to be used were those that had been provided and were on the podium awaiting them. They even could provide the "favorite pen" or whatever. But the committee had to place it/them on the podium for the debaters.
