I agree. QuickTime is useless.

On the 1,200 original Drudge JacketGate thread, HannaUSA posts an edge detection filter of Kerry before he approaches the podium (well before he reaches into his jacket). It is at post #1142 or #1148 I believe. I don't have a link, I'm using Lynx.

Anyway, that filtered photo shows that Kerry is carrying a pen in his right hand. THEN he reaches in and pulls that white thing with his left hand.

So, the campaign could be telling the truth--Kerry did bring his favorite pen to the podium. They just didn't say it was the ONLY thing he brought. :o)

Holbroke is now on FOX cable claiming the debate showed JFKerry has commanding knowledge of the issues.... NOW if the man cheated then we have a right to know.

It's definitely white or silver colored and definitely not a pen. But he may also have brought a pen with him, since many people say he appears to have had a black pen in his right hand (not his left, which he used to pull out the mysterious item).

Kerry is more than just wrong - he's arrogant, and people like that are stunningly brazen in their actions.

He turns around smoothly and swiftly, removing something from his pocket and sliding it onto the lectern as he does so; he's cool as a cucumber, because he's somebody who's built his whole career on blatant lies and contradictions, knowing that he is never going to be held accountable for them.

It may just be a makeup compact of some sort. I'm sure he carries one.

You could be right. He's so vain, he probably set up the mirror so he could watch himself while he talked. Also to check his lipstick wasn't smudged. LOLPIMPJ

Sure was not a pen. Holbroke was on Fox earlier touting JFKerry performance show his commanding knowledge of the issues.

I kept thinking well he sure ought to if he brought a "cheat sheet" with him to the debate.

Fox should clear this all up and air all camera angles taken through out the debate.

I sure wish I had recorded that debate.

Too bad there isn't a view of after the debate to see how he got rid of the evidence.

Yes, there are combo DirecTV receiver and TiVo units, commonly referred to as DirecTiVo. I have two of them in my home. DirecTV also broadcasts a small but growing number of high-definition channels, which requires a high-definition DirecTV receiver. I have one of those. Unfortunately, there's no such thing (yet) as any TiVo that records in high-definition. Rumor is that we may see one in 2005.

Oh, since HD-Net covered both the conventions in high-def, I was hoping they'd do the debates, as well. But they didn't have the first one, and neither the CBS or NBC channels that I have access to in my high-def package had it in high-def either.
