It probably was just the questions that Jim Lehrer would ask. I'm sure that Lehrer shared or possibly even developed them with the Kerry campaign, not the Bush campaign.

Additionally, Kerry handlers had to have a tool to keep him on one non-self-contradictory message for the entire debate--always a problem for the groundless candidate. So he probably just had his DNC-certified talking points--including vituperation against Bush.

As such, everything that Kerry said in the debate is considered CERTIFIED TRUE and indisputable.

According to the rules of the debate, Bush was not permitted to have a similar list of answers or to know the questions in advance. Considerer Kerry's information bulletin a form of affirmative action designed to level the playing field. It was NOT CHEATING--that's for sure; Democrats NEVER cheat because the rules do not apply to them.

"Look to the left at President Bush."

Ok, it's obvious that Bush is taking the cap off one end of a pen and placing it on the other end of the pen in order to take notes as he goes.

What's your point?

As I've said before...

It doesn't matter WHAT the thing is...the long-faced boy has to follow the rules just like the "little people."

Detailed analysis shows the object Kerry took from his jacket pocket was an 8mm home movie camera. Old habits die hard.

Edgar Allan Poe taught us all in "The Purloined Letter" that it is always best to hide things out in the open. Kerry's confident display of the contraband was his intent in order to conceal his cheating.

The point is that nobody cares. When you make something that most people seem trivial into a big deal, guess who looks bad?

"My smaller point is that the President is clearly seen unfolding something."

I really don't see any type of unfolding motion on Bush's part. Instead, it's the exact type of motion that you would see if someone was moving a cap from one end of a pen to the other end.

By the way, this argument is the exact one being brought up over at DU right now and is only meant to move everyone's attention away from Kerry's hand very visibly going into his jacket to pull something out.

"A hanky with EXTRA starch."

My thoughts as well. :-) Would be the stiffest hanky I've ever seen.

---It's definitely not a hanky

You may be right. I went back and looked at it frame by frame.

What I did notice is that he brings something in his right hand. He used his left hand to pull object from coat pocket.

Don't you need a stylus to operate a PDA? Rather than reach into the pocket twice and be detected, maybe he brought in the stylus in his right hand.

A final thought. Maybe the furious writing with the right hand was a diversion to draw attention away from the left hand operating a PDA.

All pure conjecture of course.

This election would be over if GWB Said as follows:

"This debate has shown that there is clear choice in this election. Senator Kerry said tonight that he wants to end our program to develop weapons necessary to fight the war on terror, he wants to give Iran nuclear materials, and finally, he wants to add a Global Test to determine whether America defends itself in these uncertain times. I disagree. We will continue to take the fight to the terrorists, continue to protect the homeland, and continue to do whatever is necessary to defend our country. I ask that you continue to pray for the members of our armed forces, and vote for me on election day.'

CHECKMATE!
