Were they pushing for Kerry or just pushing for a response?

Ok, so Newsweek is debunked, and what is the reason for this poll?

I agree. We are largely a society of "style", not substance.

Manipulated poll. Answered a Gallup poll recently and they are basically push polling for Kerry if you ask me. It is as close to a push poll as you can get.

---

could you please expand upon this please.

thanks in advance.

It really, really amazes me (okay, i am repeating my self).. that Bush can lose all 8 points of his last Gallup poll lead in a single debate.. and yeah, its even more fishy that there is only 1% undecided. Fascinating.

"I agree. We are largely a society of "style", not substance."

BRAVO, that explains 1992 and 1996.

But the fact Kerry has any style at all is scary

okay, but last week Gallup was being hailed as the "gold-standard" of polls and now that it gives us something we don't like we start calling it "fishy"? Look, I think there is definitely reason to question Newsweak. They are clearly partisan. Gallup is not and their methodology is quite sound.

The fact that Kerry cheated during the debate will ruin him.

Dales suggested not paying attention to these flash polls, that they were noroiously innaccurate. He suggested waiting a week to 10 days.

The Iowa market looks like it's not showing a move (although tradesports has, but Bush still ahead 60/40). Rasmussen hasn't shown a movement.

Bush has released a "Global Test" ad.

Interesting. Doesn't add up.

Let the hand-wringing begin. I'm sure the DU trolls are loving it. Let's all encourage them.

The only poll that matters is about a month away and a month is almost an eternity in politics. So just calm down out there!

Wait for the internals. After the manipulation of polls this past weekend it is foolish to take anything at face value.

don't know yet until the internals are released. When they polled matters (republicans poll worse on weekends, thursday night polling would have been almost entirely west coast, etc).

Party affilliation matters too. In the first newsweak poll from around 9/11, people here recognized that republicans were over represented and thought newsweak would shift the representations back towards democrats later to show a 'kerry surge'. They were right - the latest newsweak poll (conducted on the west coast thursday night) showed a 15 percentage point reduction in the numbers of republicans in the sample, which produced the corresponding 'bush surge'.

Polls are meaningless unless you can examine the data behind them.

OhGeorgia is a troll here to spread doom and gloom. All it ever does is post negative replies and tell everyone that Bush is toast and has no chance to win.

Sounds about right. Tied race again. Let's see if the swing state polls say the same thing.
