After last nights debate, President Bush was campaigning in Allentown Pennsylvania and later in Manchester N.H. and pointed out the many contradicting and false statements that passed through the heavily lipstick covered lips of his opponent in last nights debate
ENJOY YOUR VISIT TO SANITY ISLAN
Thank you for the birthday wishes!
ohioWfan: I hope you plan to wear your "Fawnn says "HI!!!" T-shirt tomorrow! ;)
W showed his character during the debates, imo. I doubt that I would have been able to remain as steadfast, patient, and polite as he did if that other candidate were saying those types of lies about me. IMO, we witnessed faith in action during the debates last night -- what Zell Miller referred to as the type of behavior of somebody who is the same type of Christian "on Saturday night as he is on Sunday morning."
Actually, from the DNC one could practically expect a "think" you note, LOL!! ;^)
In the past 5 years or so we have seen a massive amount of new homes being built in our area and at least three times a week our power goes out. Sometimes it's because some construction crew cut through them and other times it's because of updates to the grid. In any case, we have interruptions all the time during the day, but usually for only a few minutes. But when it happens in the evening, it's usually out for a few hours or more..... I guess it's the price we pay for an expanding economy :-)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY :-)
I heard something funny today. A friend of mine said she thinks the Dems are breeding themselves out of existence. She said between the abortions and gay rights, when is anyone having dem babies?
Calling it a night, good night folks!
Prairie
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Have you looked into getting a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply)? I get a lot of power fluctuations here, so mine is a lifesaver! When you get a true outage, you'd at least have time to shut down your computer, which is safer than risking your harddrive getting messed up if the computer is saving to it when an outage occurs!
'night Prairie...sweet dreams!
speaking of the debates .. check this out
Flashback: Freepers Evaluate Bush vs Gore Debate

LOL - your friend has a point there! All's I can say is if they breed outta existence they will be revived in some laboratory somewhere - you know like Frankenstein's monster.
I have a very good UPS, An APC 1500 with piggy backed battery packs. But when the power doesn't come back on in 5 minutes or so, I shut down the 4 computers I have connected to it. Low voltage can do serious damage to things that have to spin, things like Hard Drives and Cooling fans
You must have an endless supply of candles in your house then? I quite like candlelight myself but in times of emergency eg blackouts I can never find the darned matches! We don't have many blackouts here but it makes me wonder how these things can happen in the 21st century. Hmmmph - infrastructure or lack thereof?
Fawnn hope your birthday was wonderful, the absolute best.
I even got a lovely thank you note for the birthday card I sent to the President. Today the RNC sent me a beautiful 8x10 of President Bush in a casual blue shirt--guess I need to send another donation.
I appreciate your posts on the debate, and you are correct.
It was difficult to see President Bush attacked so often and in so many ways by both Kerry and the questions of the moderator.
But I should think of it as the President out there fighting just like our troops do, in his own way as only he can. Only he can face this enemy at home [liberal thought] especially in the debates.
I have my power strips setup so that I can plug them into one extension cord that reaches outside to the generator. With my Honda 1800 Generator I can power 4 Computers, printer, scanner, Cable Modem, Wireless Router, electric phone, 3 small fluorescent lights, my TV and even my Laptop.... LIFE IS GOOD :-)
LOL - i just splattered my coffee across the room!
I am SO glad that you have your priorities right. I have a vision of endless extension leads and double adaptors linking up your computers to the generator. Please tell me I'm wrong!!
I wondered if there were some Dem hackers on FR last night on that debate thread. I'd scan 50 posts really quickly, then there would be 75 more, or 100, or 200 more posts. So many comments were the same stuff or from people you never see on the forum.
ROFLMAO, All I have to do is unhook one heavy duty power strip from the wall (that has three other power strips & my UPS plugged into it) and hook it to extra heavy duty 100 foot extension cord and then plug into the Generator and I'm in business :-)
