The well-dressed disrupter at the recent premiere of "Stolen Honor," a documentary film attacking John Kerry's role as a Vietnam War protester, has been identified as a Kerry campaign and Democratic National Committee staffer who had served time for manslaughter in a fatal shooting. Wayne F. Smith interrupted the question-and-answer session following the Sept. 9 showing in Washington, delivering a long speech assailing the film and defending Sen. Kerry. He did not identify himself, but he recently had joined the Kerry campaign's veterans outreach operation. The campaign told this column Thursday night that Smith worked for the DNC. Although Smith had an extension and a voicemail box at the campaign Thursday afternoon, it was removed by Friday morning. Old media accounts and "Stolen Valor," a 1998 book by Vietnam veteran B.G. Burkett, show that Smith, a Vietnam War medic, was sentenced to hard labor for being AWOL before his 1972 drug-related manslaughter conviction. Smith later obtained a college education and became executive director of the Justice Project, which attempts to use DNA evidence to exonerate unjustly convicted felons.

On how many DNC gravestones will this line be etched?
This guy was considered a WAR HERO at the DNC
Ah, well. Just another day at the DNC, you know, with murderers and lunatics at the water cooler discussing Vietnam veterans and the problem of free speech.
Apparently that is not Bill Burkett who was the source of the CBS forged memos.
B.G. Burkett, a military researcher, was co-chairman of the Texas Vietnam Memorial with President George Bush as Honorary Chairman. Mr. Burkett has been the object of an award-winning segment on ABC's "20/20," as well as much acclaimed articles in Texas Monthly and Reader's Digest. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee. Burkett also served in Vietnam with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Honor Medal, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
For his service in Vietnam or in jail?
Please keep that junk off the threads.
The DNC cn never be in charge of this country.

Until then you will everyday.
Got it?
Don't say that. We want you here forever. Nothing wrong with your work.

Boy, the DNC has some real characters in its employ. This guy ranks right up there!
People need to remember. Thank you for posting.
Let me rephrase that.
I won't be posting Hanoi Kerry stuff.
I will be on FR everyday.
Tonk, you seem like a nice guy. I don't want to beef with you. But do a search on your posts. You've contributed virtually nothing but this crap (and a self pity thread) for the past 2 weeks. I like apple pie too, but not 24/7. Man, give it a break. You're snappin.
Don't let a few self appointed censors influence your dedication. It will be needed the next few election cycles until the Rat party reforms itself into something American.
No doubt he would have a job like Craig Livingstone in the Kerry White House.
