Ash cloud will be heading toward Portland Oregon, with the wind in its current direction.
Channel 8 reporter estimates 15k feet height, but still fairly small size cloud from pics on TV.

Nearly all of the Cascades volcanoes are active, and most have erupted at least once during the time humans have been in the region.

Whoa, I'm still looking at the picture prior to this one and there is essentially nothing there. This is wild.

Thar she blows! Steam followed by dark plume of smoke and ash. No sound. Plume heading north by northwest. Watching local news, scientists say this could go on for days.

I know that but there was a post at FR the other night about increased activity under Ranier too.

There's a big difference between the 12:04 pic and the 11:59 one.
I'm using GeekTool to keep the webcam on my desktop - I see a dark plume

Mount Rainier is NOT active and has NEVER been active during this Mt. St. Helens swarm or any time remotely recently.
The quakes at Mt. St. Helens during the swarm simply became strong enough to register at the Mt. Rainier seismographs (and the Mt. Hood ones, and basically every one in Western Washington.)
Multiple people pointed this out in replies to that horrible thread about Mt. Rainier becoming "active" started by whoever the spectacularly clueless person was that didn't understand how seismometers work but it's clear a lot of people didn't bother to read all of the replies on that thread.
