Well, if he would vote for Kerry because of this debate, then what he says isn't worth much. Again, and most likely again I will say that the questions posed were designed to put Bush on the defense, none were posed to put Kerry anywhere but on the attack. Kerry who always whines about the Attack dogs of the right, was in need of a muzzle himself.

The author couched that remark in terms of what Joe and Jane American -- folks who aren't political wonks like us -- would think after watching the debate. Remember, these are the people who have the attention span of puppies on crank. Hell, the most oft-repeated remark following the debate from the Man-on-the-Street is "Gee, Kerry didn't sound like a flip-flopper at all! And I like what he had to say!"

In other words, while you and I can see through Kerry's mumbo-jumbo, those who don't follow this race as closely will walk away with a more positive view of Kerry than Bush. And believe me, that is the last thing we need.

Indeed...Mr. Bush what do you admire about Sen. Kerry? Mr. Kerry in what ways do you think Mr. Bush sucks?

But that being said, the analysis is correct in many ways. The President passed up many opportunities. On the question of 1,000 combat deaths in a year and a half why did he not mention the 3,000 we suffered in an hour and a half.

When Kerry said that the war in Iraq is not tied to terrorism he mentioned Zarqawi. But he did not point out that we are dealing with people who cut off heads and that those people are now fighting our bravest, brightest, most dedicated, best trained, and most well-armed men and women OVER THERE rather than sitting somewhere drinking tea and planning to bring down the Sears Tower.

President Reagan did badly in his first debate with Mondale. But it made no difference. We have two to go.

I only got to listen to half of the debate on the radio. It sounded like Bush was groping for words alot.

I have watched alot of debates before and I don't remember any of them being like this. This was an attack mode from Kerry. I don't think Bush was expecting this nor do I think he was expecting the lies. Such as when Kerry said he never called Bush a liar or the closing of the subway station comment. Bush may have never heard Kerry call him a liar and was not sure of the subway closure. This was not a debate in my opinion. The only response Bush could have had to this was to call Kerry a liar on stage and that is not his style. I think all of this had Bush flustered.

Kerry blew it with the global test comment. Bush said "global test" and it sounded like Kerry was saying the US would have to take something like a 4th grade test. I laughed on that one.

Bush's closing sumation was excellent.
