LOCKHART: DEBATE CONSENSUS A 'DRAW'

Unbeknownst to Kerry adviser Mike McCurry, a C-SPAN camera quietly followed McCurry as he found Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart on Spin Alley floor and asked him his impression of the debate. Lockhart candidly said to McCurry , “The consensus is it was a draw.”

That's my take as well. Bush overall SLIGHTLY better if his expectations were lower, but Bush really needed to knock him out

Bush needed to knock him out? A draw is a victory for the leader. It was Kerry who needed this debate more than Bush.

I did not see the debate thanks to some sinus meds that made me sleep from 4pm to 9:40pm. I decided to come on here and to my shock I saw that most FReepers were ready to kill themselves, and for what? A draw...lol!!

When you are 6 to 8 points behind in the polls you really need to wipe the floor with your opponent, from the things I have read here tonight Kerry did not do that. If you had to pick the more effective debater tonight then it goes to Kerry, but that is all that can be said. No drastic win though.

Did Kerry really give a good reason why he would be better at Iraq and the WOT???

The internet is too quick for them. We're the fastest draw in the states.

LOL, you are too quick with the ping so disregard my later one to you. This is too MARVELOUS for words and I'd give anything to be a fly on the wall as he tries to explain it to his boss.

Kerry made too many lies that will be looked into.

And because of his flip flop history, it will all come out in the wash. Wait until talk radio goes after this.
Bush may have been passive, but he made no mistakes, and gave no fodder to the liberal press. Bush is safe. Kerry gave them talk (ratings material).

I thought the debate was a draw on style as you watched it, but on substance Bush stayed strongly on message and IMHO won. I hope the Bush Campaign gets out there on Kerry saying the war was a "mistake" and "not a mistake" and the Kerry plan to give nuclear materials to Iran.

Did anyone actually see this or is it a C-SPAN "out-take"? If it wasn't broadcast it will probably never see the light of day.
