LOCKHART: DEBATE CONSENSUS A 'DRAW'

Unbeknownst to Kerry adviser Mike McCurry, a C-SPAN camera quietly followed McCurry as he found Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart on Spin Alley floor and asked him his impression of the debate. Lockhart candidly said to McCurry , “The consensus is it was a draw.”

I've watched Carl for years and he always sounds upbeat unless he's describing some horrible tragedy, it's just his style.

The reason so many freepers think Fox is going lib is because they haven't been watching the other networks. Spend some time watching the competition, and you won't be worried about Fox any more.

I wonder how this plays for voters though... I've know many don't like how Kerry can appear to be too slick.

Do you think that coming accross as TOO polished in a debate makes people not trust you?

Well, of what I saw, I noticed a few times where Kerry was going on, blah, blah, blah, Bush is incompetent, blah, blah, then at the very end of his time say, "But I'd do it better" and not say why. Just a bunch of Monday-morning quarterbacking.

IMNSHO--While President Bush was dealing with the Hurricane victims, Kerry was getting a manicure. Bush is salt of the earth and Kerry is a Parisian snob.

Kerry failed in doing what he needed to do most and that was coming across LIKEABLE.

The town hall debate is going to be interesting. Kerry will have to visualize those people are John Edwards in order to project warmth towards them.
