Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
Yeah! He said something about the "Pottery Barn rule ... you break it, you fix it." WHAT A MAROON!! You break it, you BUY it -- you don't "fix" shattered ceramics. Kerry is such an ass. As far as I'm concerned, Dubya is dusting Kerry's butt.
With as fast as FR was and as long as it was taking to loas anyway, I ran into graphics a big twice during the debate thread. Thought nothing of it.
Geez, it's 1:00
I've gotta go to bed.
Or to put it another way, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I have to say that I have found your perception of this debate completely off the mark from beginning to end and as time has passed since it ended I think my perception is becoming the majority view and yours is being demonstrated incorrect.
That question from Lehrer was not a "silver platter" question. It was an offensive question to ask of a president and President Bush addressed it with dignity and did not take the bait to get down and dirty.
I know you're a big Bush fan and will chalk it up to nerves clouding your judgement.
I just got home. Missed it all. Who won?
Yes. I saw that and it was very informative. Thanks just the same for the heads up!
"I've never seen the charm or style in Bill Clinton --- and I've never thought he was at all likeable --- it's hard to know with many voters what they see in someone. Clinton turned my stomach, I thought he was revolting, boorish --- a total buffoon."
THANK YOU!!!
That's all right .. let them have their joy tonight .. they'll be crying on 11/3.
As a matter of fact, I've got a graphic for the folks making a federal case out of it:
>>"Pottery Barn rule ... you break it, you fix it." WHAT A MAROON!! <<
"Oh my Lovey, I'll talk about the Ceramic Shack and they'll think I'm just like them. Now I'm off to windsurf! Kiss, Kiss!!!"
Ug.
LOL!
Really?
So people are going to vote a month from now on perception?
No, they are going to remember one man willing to make decisions to defend them and another worried about 'global testing'
If you guys were around in 1941 we would be speaking Geman and Japanese!
Good point!
Pres. Bush really did hit him hard on being unfit in response to the charachter question. Kerry's response was to accuse Pres. Bush of being pig-headed basically. That was a VERY DAMAGING exchange for Kerry IMHO.
But, tonight Bush held his own and had Kerry on the ropes during the first half.
Bush then closed well which brought him back to even.
In a fight, the challenger has to win decisively and if not the tie goes to the one holding the title belt.
Bush won the debate by these rules.
Kerry will likely win the second debate on domestic policy. Democrats always do better of this area as that is their game.
Bush has a good chance to win decisively on the third and last debate during the open forum where the debate questions will once again turn to foreign policy and will be asked and answered in a forum that is good for Bush.
In the end, as in most recent elections, the voters will not move much. Their minds are made up or very close to it. The debates rarely sway anyone.
I don't care what these talking head idiots say. Elections do not pivot on debates.
As a Bush voter, we know this guy and we knew he would not out class Kerry. But, we also know that out here in the real world, fast talkin smart asses don't get much appreciation.
Ever!
LOL - oh my. This never happens. (Check's in the mail.)
