Looks like alot of steam escaping, or are those clouds (from the web-cam).

diamond those are clouds. I saw some early today that scared me to death, the way they looked early in the morning with all the fog.

The seismographs you've posted do not have the same dates and times for both volcanos. Therefore, it is impossible to confirm your thesis that the activity recorded at Rainer is separate from St. Helens. However, with fair certainity, the activity recorded at Rainer is MOST LIKELY that from St. Helens. You really need to compare the data properly.

It's Rowe's fault: He knows there are mostly liberals who would killed in Seattle, Portland, and north CA when Shasta blows ........

Nah.
Observations can be made by anybody.
Geologists, as well as newsmen, can get scooped by the pajama police.
BUT, and it's big but, consider all the sources .....

Geologists, as well as newsmen, can get scooped by the pajama police I am getting more info from FR tonight about Mt. St. Helens than all other media combined! I am not saying that the Presidential debate isn't important, but it's like the Super Bowl 3 hour pre/ pre-game show. It was driving me crazy. I wanted volcano news, not John Kerry.

Some of us have compared. The activity at Longmire, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, seismographs at Rochester high school and Puyallup are all showing the events.
It looks as though it has slowed a bit the last two hours or so.

Thanks, I guess another gas flight was done today with negative result. No volcanic gas.

It looks like something big happened about 30 minutes ago on the 10-01-04 seismograph from Longmire, MT Ranier (top line in black about 3/4 of the way to the right.

How did that satellite truck get in the picture right at sundown. Maybe a broadcast right as the sun went down? In the dark?

Some of us have compared. The activity at Longmire, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, seismographs at Rochester high school and Puyallup are all showing the events. So my question remains the same. Are these seismographs recording a common event source - St. Helens (most likely) or a separate event / swarm under Rainier (Least likely), which was the general thesis that started this thread.

They are all the same events, emanating from Mt. St. Helens
I am sure a few of the events on the individual sensors are actual small scale background seismicity of the parrticular site.

Your point? I don't recall Mt. Constitution being a volcano, active or otherwise...
