Note to Admin Moderator: I'm posting this in "Breaking News" since no one has said a word about it as of yet. If you don't feel it should stay in Breaking, please leave on Front Page or FR. Thanks.
While checking the seismographs tonight for the region, it is becoming apparent that Mt. Rainier is also awakening along with Mt St Helens. At first, I had hoped that the seismographs at Mt Rainier were merely picking up the earth movement from St Helens, but the tremors do not correlate.
By checking the charts for St Helens back on the 25th of the month - when the current event began - the buildup is easily seen. There are occasional quakes that are of noticeable strength, while the others are extremely small. Moving forward from the 25th, you can see the intensity grow, as well as the frequency shorten. Well, the same scenario is playing itself out right now under Mt Rainier, especially the Longmire station.
Posted below are the charts showing this growth at St Helens, along with the more current ones from Mt Rainier. If Mt Rainier's activity increases in a manner similar to Mt St Helens, this will be an interesting time indeed for all of this region......
Here is Mt St Helens from the 25th:
And here is St Helens again, from the morning of the 26th:
This is Mt St Helens right now. Constant earth movement......
Alert status for Mt St Helens is now at "3". Now for Mt Rainier. Here's the chart for Rainier from yesterday morning/afternoon:
And this is the current chart for Mt Rainier:
As you can see, the earth is starting to move under this volcano as well. The duration of the quakes under Mt Rainier is longer, and the frequency is longer than at Mt St Helens, but there is obviously something going on here as well. I really want this one to go back to sleep.
They are showing up on the Mt. Hood recorders as well

There is a station at Rochester high school, about 40 miles NW of St.H
There is alot of sedimentary geology there, so the signals are dampened.

>> Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.
I believe that earthquake will occur in Hollywood, as follows:
"And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath." - Revelation 16:19
"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication." - Revelation 17:1-2
"How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come." - Revelation 18:7-10
What do they give you?
I got my own little stash of masks, etc. I'm sort of a survivalist in an apartment. If the grid goes down, or the hordes are at the gate, I've got food, ammo, water, and alternative light sources.
I was kinda planning for war or earthquake (or the flu). I wasn't thinking about the damn volcano.
I don't know about Radiohead's employer, but we just got our "Volcano Survival Kit" here at work today, and it consists of:
The Pacific Rim buildup is the result of the fanatical hatred of President Bush by the moronic and mentally diseased Left. The criminal ooze and pus of their Party is now reaching critical mass and should blow soon.
What cities are they is what I meant. I wasn't very clear.
(Remember, I am hurricane/East Coast oriented; trying to "learn" a lot here at one time, including geography!)
Always.
Not quite Seattle...
I can never quite tell when you're being serious on threads like these.
I don't know much about volcanos, but I know enough to get a sick feeling in my stomach when somebody mentions June Lake.
Who was June Lake?
It would still wipe out a lot of homes.
They are showing up on the Mt. Hood recorders as well

That's what I'm saying. All the sites that have recording equipment are picking up St Helen's noise. There is Nothing on the USGS web site that suggest Mt. Rainer is rumbling. Many of these recorders are so sensative they record noise from large earthquakes half way around the world.
Yhey have mapped large areas in south Seattle, notably the Harbor Island area, that are built on previous mudflows.
It is most certainly possible.
I can tell by these polygraphs that Mt. Rainier is LYIN'.
You can mail $250 each to David Mullineaux and Dwight R. Crandell, author of the 1978 USGS report "Potential Hazards from Future Eruptions of Mount St. Helens Volcano, Washington"
Abstract Follows:
Mount St. Helens has been more active and more explosive during the last 4,500 years than any other volcano in the conterminous United States. Eruptions of that period repeatedly formed domes, large volumes of pumice, hot pyroclastic flows, and, during the last 2,500 years, lava flows. Some of this activity resulted in mudflows that extended tens of kilometers down the floors of valleys that head at the volcano. This report describes the nature of the phenomena and their threat to people and property; the accompanying maps show areas likely to be affected by future eruptions of Mount St. Helens. Explosive eruptions that produce large volumes of pumice affect large areas because winds can carry the lightweight material hundreds of kilometers from the volcano. Because of prevailing winds, the 180-degree sector east of the volcano will be affected most often and most severely by future eruptions of this kind. However, the pumice from any one eruption will fall in only a small part of that sector. Pyroclastic flows and mudflows also can affect areas far from the volcano, but the areas they affect are smaller because they follow valleys. Mudflows and possibly pyroclastic flows moving rapidly down Swift and Pine Creeks could displace water in Swift Reservoir, which could cause disastrous floods farther downvalley.
It was a remarkably prescient report, the only thing it really missed was the whole "lateral blast" thing. Lateral blasts are quite rare and the only known ones prior to St. Helens were a couple of obscure volcanoes in Kamchatka and New Guinea that hadn't been well studied.
I have a feeling that the web cam won't last very long once the eruption gets started.
Me neither. I was teasing - what you need to do for a volcanic eruption (if you are out of the immediate danger zone) is pretty much the same thing you have to do for any other natural disaster - have emergency supplies, fresh water, food, ammo etc...
Also, don't let ash build up on your roof because it can get heavy like wet snow and cause a collapse or cave-in... Take off your outside clothes before going in, because the ash is a real bitch to get rid of, don't go outside unless you really gotta, wear a face mask etc...
