I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.
Here is your chance to put these rumours to rest. Chime in and let everyone know you still are alive and kicking. Post your registration number if you know it.
How many have checked in?
Good to see you again. Thanks for reposting those graphics
I WAS Milagro (my beloved late husband was 1John), but I lost my password and, being too clever by half, re-registered. I want my Milagro back. Whaaaaa!!!
You just know that that was a challenge for someone to do a count, don't you?
;-]
In your chain of freeper user poster you forgot three. Suspened----->Banned------->off to another site to cry how you were abused.
Looks like folks are listing their sign-up number, mine was about 1846 or 64, give or take a few.
You could probably send an email to Jim and ask him to resend you the password. The account is still active #5581 - 6/10/98
Leto 9-12-1998, lurked >1 year before registering.
Yeah. I remember him and his delightful little admonishment: "envision whirled peas."
Just wonderin'. Have you made it back to Wyoming yet?
Bob, it looks like we signed up on the same day.
I had been posting on the site (which I think was called WhiteWater then) for some time.
I've been wondering: was 11-28-97 the first day Jim instigated signing up?
Cause I'm thinking I wanted to post something and then found out I had to sign up, so I did.
I think I registered under a different name before using Judith Anne...maybe GrannyK? way back when...any way of checking that?
Wow--you are so kind to respond--bless your heart!!!
There is no record of a GrannyK in the data I have access to.
Just log off the Zellenn account and log in to the old one. You're welcome
Thanks for joining in on this thread rpierce! You might want to explain what these graphics mean as many newbies (post '00...heheh) don't know what to what they refer. You and other "forgotten FReepers" are a big part of the history of FR and those stories should be told.
BTW - Got a nice note from Boston a few weeks ago. It would be great if you, he and others got involved again. Time heals all wounds.
Heading up this Friday. John has been "almost" alone putting together the new control studio. It's a site to see...state of the art. We debut Monday...slow rollout though, got a lot of new hosts and equipment. Bugs need to be worked out.
Never got into the wars that caused so many to go away. I see that some are sneaking back in.
It's all good here, esp, if you read and heed my tagline.
Yes, that was the infamous date. The lib trolls forced it, also forced most of us to change our names and delete the eddresses. There were a few holdouts, Like Gallutia. He didn't want to give them the satisfaction of feeling like they won.
Also - The discussion about registration went on for some time. There was a significant "come and get a piece of me a-hole" attitude, but Jim recommended we go that way. In retrospect it was a good decision.
