I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.
Here is your chance to put these rumours to rest. Chime in and let everyone know you still are alive and kicking. Post your registration number if you know it.
Bert, add your join date please.
Hint, hint --John!

That's for sure. I vaguely remember we once posted to one another that we couldn't believe the MFJ was 3 years ago! It will be 6 years this October 31st. My, how time flies. :)
Signed up 11/28/97 and I believe I'm #15. Not sure how to check that though. And I'm very proud to be a Freeper. Used to post quite a bit, but prefer now to just lurk.
You're 12074. ;-)

I lurked here about as long as well before too. I found this site from a link on Drudge.
I found FR on Drudge also. That link brought a lot of people here in the days just before registration was initiated and for months thereafter. In the first few days of registration, getting a very low number was largely a matter of luck. Many of the oldtimers were in that first round and they happened to get higher numbers than I did, even though they had been around this place longer.
When I first lurked, I remember Arthur Wildfire! March would call people he liked Patriot____. I was pleased, but a bit amused, when he first addressed me as "Patriot Wallaby"!
My profile says Aug 25th, 1998 which isn't right. I moved up to Alaska from California in May 1998 and I was FReeping in California before the move.
I have no idea what my "number" is.

Ahhh...my number is 8855
Tarpon --- reporting back for duty -- since Mar 26, 1998
