I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.

AWR stopped by one of our Freep gatherings. I think it may have been the afternoon rally before the dinner honoring the House Managers (but don't hold me to that). Anyway, I have a photo of him chatting with Dolly Kyle Browning and BadJoe. He doesn't look like you, so you're off the hook. Dolly, of course, looks a lot better than you, AWR, BadJoe, me, and anyone else around :-)

November 10, 1998. I was a Sophomore in College back then. I found Free Republic my Freshman year; in the spring I think. I spent more time reading FR than I did going to class. It was the second part of my education to counter the liberal profs that we trying to warp my little mind.

Thanks for the ping! That sure brought back memories! What it also brought back to me was the feeling of helplessness I felt due to the fact that I couldn't figure out how to post to FR. It was the first website I ever latched onto where conservatives posted in conversation to others. These were in my earlier computer days.
