I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.

Here is your chance to put these rumours to rest. Chime in and let everyone know you still are alive and kicking. Post your registration number if you know it.

I was posting anti-Clinton stuff on the old CNN Message Boards and followed a famous Freeper over to FR.

You and me both! I also fondly remember the Whitewater link from the Drudge Report.

I was lurking back then. Didn't sign up for years later, but I was at the "March for Justice" in 1998.

I think you've been here longer than that too. I remember us going on about stuff in early 99.

Come to think of it, I must have been here at least several months before that October date, because I was hooking up with Vista500 and A Whitewater Researcher for ILL-area FReeps during the 1998 primaries and on into the fall elections. I guess I was posting here maybe in late 1997 then? Hmmmmmmmm.......

I do not intend to read all 700+ responses on this thread ... I've read several, and that's enough. If anyone is interested enough, they can find threads I've started or responded to before sign-up was required. Proud to have been here since Dec. '96. FreeRepublic is THE source for news, whether we're solving crimes or beating the LSM to the news, this is THE PLACE to be..... :)

Still, I kinda miss the old days .... when I could read EVERY thread in the space of of couple of hours. Now, if I was to sit here 24/7, I'd still miss about 1/2 of the threads .... :(

From the dinner before the Victory Brunch in Feb 2001

LOL

I could get lots of people mad at me if I posted the singing of the anthem...

It was dfu's brain child.

Yup, it sure was his child ... to Do You Hear The People Sing, from Les Miserables.

Try to post a sound file now, huh? LOL Someone posted earlier how if someone forgot to close a tag you'd get the whole forum blinking or the colors and/or font size would remain the same. I seem to remember that sound files could be posted too. Perhaps that was pre-reg, I can't remember. I haven't the time to read all the posts, but didn't registration start in '96 or '97?
