Fox News Bill O'Reilly Admits His Liberalism and Democrat tilt
Wire Reports/The Spokesman-Review | 9-25-2004 | Unknown

Posted on 09/25/2004 5:41:06 PM PDT by lilylangtree

On Sunday's "60 Minutes" during which he is interviewed by longtime CBS newscaster Mike Wallace, Fox News Commentator Bill O'Reilly comes out with some surprising comments. He says he is pro-gun control, anti-death penalty, for civil unions and for gay adoption, (as a last resort instead of state custody). And he won't necessarily vote for President Bush in November.

I've known (Democratic presidential nominee John) Kerry for 25 years. He's a patriot. I'm listening to what he has to say," O'Reilly says.

Fox needs to understand the concept that they are supposed to BE BALANCE.

Purge the left from FNC. To be conservative is to be intelectually honest.

Rush didn't like doing television, so that won't work.

As recall, Rush didn't like the fact that his show did not have a consistent time slot. On Fox he WOULD have one.

Also, I believe he would do it on the right terms. Man, what a boost for Rush, Fox AND all of us if he did it.

Yes, Steyn or Stein would be excellent choices as well, But Laura's better looking than the both of them.

Also, I was just thinking about the title of O'Reilly's book, "Who's Looking out for You". Who said I need anybody to look out for me? If I did, it sure as hell wouldn't be an intellectual Lilliputian like O'Reilly.

Maybe he's been recruited by the homosexual lobby. He's not married is he?

i gave up on him some time ago.

As did I, and then I dumped him a week or so ago, after he made the comparison of what Ratherbiased/CBS did to the President and the WMD.

That was the FINAL straw (after his unkind remarks about the SwiftBoat Vets the weeks before).

Could it be that he's just trying to create buzz by staying 'undecided'? And how could you ever have thought he was a Conservative?

For Rush to replace Oreily would be the ULTIMATE humiliation for the faker. If anything it would make Rush's products reaaaaly go.

HOWEVER they would have to give rush carte blanche to do whatever he wants and say whatever he wants. If they put a warning in front it will only mean MORE ratings.

I wonder who owns the phrase "no spin zone".

I have a very high tolerance rate and when this jacka@@ (Big O) believes Kerry against 256 SwiftVets, and needs documents to approve or disprove. Well, easy to figure this out. KERRY SIGN THE 180. That's my proof beyond any doubt, Kerry is a cheat, lier, and a very sick man.

I absolutely agree that sKerry should be held accountable for treason and feel strongly that he single-handedly confounded the Vietnam War and urinated (thanks Rush!) on the Vets. O'Reilly is not going to go to that extreme because he's afraid to as he has to project himself as independent. I was stunned as well by his initial dismissiveness of the Swift Vets and it took me off guard. It took a long time for me to stomach his viewpoint until I realized the source - OReilly is afraid to go out on a limb on someone he's known for 25 years. I'm curious how he knows Kerry, but in the end it won't matter. I'm proud to be tolerant of opposing views and certainly would not credit any liberal of being tolerant! Tolerance is not a liberal quality - not in the least. They are so intolerant that even a genuine good person like my hero "W" can't be tolerated and they will do anything to bring him down (including fakery) to their level of tolerance. They can't handle good and honest, only lying, cheating and stealing.

They don't even understand that calling Bush a Cowboy actually makes him more positive to people!

I can live with his anti death penalty stance because he favors life at hard labor, with no amenities or privileges, in some God forsaken place where escape would mean death by exposure and starvation.

I believe he is likely to modify his his gun control position if he is bombarded with enough stories of crimes prevented by armed law abiding citizens vs. the few abuses committed by them.

I can agree to disagree with him on civil unions. But gay adoption? Not unless male homosexuals are only permitted to adopt girls, and lesbians only boys, and only as a last resort. The state should not be raising children, because they don't adequately screen homosexual predators out of the employment in child services.

I think that his considering voting for Kerry is fair and balanced "shtick". He's slammed Kerry often enough for his dual stances on every issue, but still wants to look neutral.

I disagree with President Bush almost as often as with O'Reilly, but I'd just as soon keep 'em both.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE WANT TO GO TO see-BS?

DOESN'T HE GET IT? "HIS" HIGH RATINGS aren't about him the high ratings are about the Fox Network-if he goes to see-BS-it will be the end for him.....too bad he let the high ratings go to his head-"his" audience won't follow him over to see-BS and all their BS.

I think when O'Reilly was testing out titles for his book, he was practicing saying them in front of a mirror. That would explain the one he finally settled on.
