Thought a thread in Breaking News for the weekend covering Hurricane Jeanne would be a good thing. Post your link, pics, updates and freeper check-in's here
My neighbor was telling me about a weather site for our area. Its called wunderground. Looks like Jeanne may be worse than Frances. They haven't even picked up the tree limbs from Frances yet & I can see all of it flying all over. Good luck to you.
Joe Bastardi also concerned about a possible Cat 4 and it becoming the stongest of all the storms this season. At 10:30AM this morning, he was predicting a landfall near Melbourne around 3AM.

Also- for Central Florida Freepers- when we lose power you can get Channel 9 tv on your radio- K92 FM.
heads up!!
Jeanne may be a cat 4 right at landfall!!!!!
Radar summary from about 25 minutes ago
Switzerland? North of St Augustine?
Naw, I would stay put. If you try to leave now to avoid it, you'd be having to out-race it going west on I-10. I wouldnt go north unless you went to western North Carolina, IMO.
Yep. It was leaning after charley, leaned more after Frances. But they are sturdy trees. So...dunno.
I'll sleep (if I do) at the other end of the house tho till the winds pass. No one will touch it, not fema, FPL, Asplundh, etc. Neighbors are - well, different.
Many of the models on that map are ancient, worthless, and ignored by NHC. It's like a stack of magazines that has the Weekly World Worker, Mother Jones, Pravda, the Nation, etc. mixed in with the Wall Street Journal, National Review, etc. And the models aren't labeled so people can't even tell which is which.
It gives a false impression of model spread. That spaghettit map is one of the worst things on the web.
It's leaning about like this
/
over my place.
About 70 ft tall, 3 to 4 ft diameter at the base. Top broke off years ago.
Try the computer models on www.wunderground/tropical.
Sorry. Make that www.wunderground.com/tropical
We'll be doing this all night, but what do you think - WNW now? I was watching the local news and their last sat sure looked like a jog to the N a little.
That is a monstrous eye.
Well, if it's gonna hit south FL, that's about as empty a coast as there is. Nasty for those in the storm.
25 miles south? The eye would be over the middle of Miami! The rain and winds would straddle the area.
Checking in from Seminole County. All quiet here right now except in Wal Mart!!
Looks like its going to go west of us, which means we may get the worst of it.
The guy on the weather channel said the eye is as wide as the path of destruction from charley.
ho hum.
looks like Sanford is going to be deleted.
my mom and sis are in Orange City. Lessee, they're democrats, so if they die, does that count as two less votes for Kerry, or 4? I get confused.
