Section 9 checking in. I'm on the southern edge of where the Hurricane force winds will be. The only pain is that I took down two of my plywood pieces a couple of days ago and now have to put them back up this morning. Sucks.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

I am more ready now than with Charley, about as well as with Frances. Problem with that is a false sense of security.
And again, it appears from the tracks that Daytona Beach will get the NE quadrant of the hurricane, which is where the twisters spawn mostly.

Thanks for starting this thread...we just heard this is coming in to us inland as a Cat 3...possibly into Vero as a Cat 4. We're ready- but numb.

Last weekend I spent 6 hours taking down my plywood and caulking all the damn holes in the CMU.
I am not putting them back unless this turns into a 4.

Unreal, isn't it? By the time to unwind emotionally from a hurricane, another one comes along. I am staying put again, but I have a feeling this one might be worse than Charley (eye went over us), which was violent but over quickly, and Frances which was like a non stop blast of a wall of wind. I know what the NOAA folks say the winds were here, but I don't agree with them and I think the winds never dropped under @ 65 mph for 18 hrs straight.

Going to a hotel with the kids (ages 3, 5 and 3 weeks). 3rd time I've evacuated with a newborn .....I think he brought the hurricanes with him :o) All Florida FReepers you're in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe and good luck!

Also to add insult, every storm has come in on a weekend! What's with that? Another round of plans ruined to sit around staring at the weather channel At least I kept power the last few storms, but I'm doubtful that I'll be that lucky with Jeanne.

According to the news I-95 and the Beeline (Hwy 528) are not busy. Maybe everyone is packing all they own before they leave.
