CONTROVERSIAL TEXAS RANCHER SAYS LOCKHART WANTED DOCUMENTS //
The source of a disputed CBSNEWS report claimed Thursday that Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart tried to "convince me as to why I should give them the documents." Texas Army National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett tells the FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM that he has suffered four seizures since being identified as CBS' source and dogged by the media... Developing...
Controversial Texas rancher defends release of documents to CBS
"It's sad to see a dog have a seizure. My daughter has an Ibizan hound that's had a dozen or so, but not recently. He seems to have outgrown them"
Our little guy has them randomly every few weeks or months. The first time it happened, scared the daylights out of us. We rushed him to the vet, but by the time we got there he had recovered.
Two vets have told us it is a form of epilepsy, could get better, worse, or stay the same as to severity.
Think of the financial and historical significance of the information this man holds in his hands. He can singlehandedly destroy CBC, Rather, and the Democrat party if he only has corrorborating evidence and does not have to rely on heresay. He is in desparate financial straights.
Need to be in a witness proctection program or in protective custody.
CBS source denies plotting with Kerry

This article has been corrected from the version published in the newspaper and online Friday morning to reflect that Bill Burkett was referring to conversations with CBS when he said, "They tried to convince me as to why I should give them the documents." The earlier version incorrectly reported that he had discussed the documents with Joe Lockhart of the Kerry campaign.
I wish the man no harm, I am merely saying that the best solution for the Dems would be if Burkett dropped dead, and they wouldn't shed any tears if he did, except of course they would wail and lash out at the heartless republicans for driving the man to his death.
you know they are saying now Burkette didnt say that about Lockhart...BUT to me, its clear what he was saying was Lockhart was trying to tell him why he should give the memos to CBS.. and Lockhart denies talking about them but I think the newspapers are getting it wrong...its CLEAR Burkette is saying Lockhart was trying to persuade him to give the memos on over to CBS..... THAT was the reason that goof Mape was having Lockhart call anyways so Burkette would turn them over to her.....
now everyone is denouncing the Burkette quote, but to me its more harmful if burkette is saying Lockhart was trying to talk him into giveing the documents to CBS.....either way Lockhart is LYING....but the press is seeing the wrong lie!!.......
Anybody can see the entire Mapes, Lockhart and Burkett connection is both fishy and an absolute breach of journalistic ethics by Mapes, but the case would have been stronger if the Burkett angle had held.
but thats my point...I think Lockhart DID talk to him about the documents and thats what Burkette meant.. that Lockhart was trying to tell him the reasons to turn the documents over to them (BEING CBS) ... The MSM is picking up on the wrong thing .. they are saying "THEM" is LOCKHART... its clear Lockhart was TALKING to him about the memos..
oops! lockheart denied this!
Is it BURKE IT or BUR KETT?
No one in the South ever says "the vapors". Just Southern novelists.

CBS source denies plotting with Kerry

The earlier version incorrectly reported that he had discussed the documents with Joe Lockhart of the Kerry campaign.
The source of a discredited CBS News report said Thursday that he did not coordinate the release of disputed documents with John Kerry's campaign.
Bill Burkett, a former Texas National Guardsman, also said that he warned the network that the documents critical of President Bush's service in the National Guard would be vigorously challenged and should be independently validated.
