Campaign: Kerry cancels Columbus visit because of strained voice (Iowa Also Canceled)

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry canceled a campaign visit to Columbus on Thursday because of a strained voice, a campaign spokeswoman said Wednesday night.

"With the debates coming up, he needs to balance his campaign schedule and keep his voice strong," spokeswoman Kathy Roeder said.

Kerry also canceled a trip to Iowa on Thursday to rest his voice, and the campaign said vice presidential nominee John Edwards would take his place.

John Kerry canceled a campaign visit to Columbus

OK everyone, let's start a pool on what the REAL reasons are for Kerry's stopping his campaign trip, and for Carville's glum contenance (doleful, to borrow from Man of La Mancha?) on the O'Reilly program. Prizes to be awarded for most outlandish reason, and for the accurate one.

I have two guesses:

#1, Outlandish category, Teresa is filing for a divorce

#2, Accuracy category, they've discoverd who the Rathergate memo forger is and it is a college student in the Kerry campaign, who did it as a prank (actually, someone has already suggested this as the forger back in the early days). The prank got out of hand.

Any word on where he's spending his time recuperating?

I agree... I am certain both candidates need vocal rest, but Kerry also needs to keep his botox injections current. Pretty sick stuff...very unmanly and very narcissistic. Very girlie. Very Kerry.

And ya know...Kerry is a playboy. His life is filled with homes at various vacation spots that allow him to engage in his favorite sports. He always has the latest equipment, latest sports fashion covering his body and is just so, well, metro-sexual. Everything about him screams out...look at me, I am hip.

Worse...I too think he does not have the work ethic needed to be a good President. This man is lazy with a capital L. (The L could stand for loser, as well, hehe) He is not used to following any schedule that interferes with his play time.

Here is a man who has missed almost ALL of the intelligence briefings during the time when he was actually pretending to be a senator...and now he misses votes and is doing NOTHING for his state...but refuses, as most democrats do, to resign his job to run for President. Liberals always hedge their bets...they do not have the decency to quit, or the decency to leave the campaign trail once in awhile to actually do their DAY JOB.

You're right. In addition to the four remaining battleground states in which Kerry leads--PA, NM, MN, and OR--he needs either FL--or NH, IA, WI, and NV in lieu of FL--to win. FL and NV, however, are moving firmly into the Bush camp.
