Cool.
Mod update.
Ordinary Americans have dragged slowly but surely other big institutions to the truth. The big institutions were the last to arrive at the truth and some of them to this moment are still not there. Now I realize that within this new alternative media there exists some jealosy,. I sense that some people dont want to give the blogosphere the full credit. They have to parcel it out because every body wants a piece of the action; this is quite normal, this is human nature. The fact of the matter is that it was the blogosphere and it was a couple of sites: Powerline and FreeRepublic. And FreeRepublic has been one of the most impugned blogs / websites in the history of websites by the very institution that has been brought down.
When Dan Rather talked about partisan political operatives, he means those who lurk at FreeRepublic. Who is FreeRepublic, its ordinary Americans liberals look down at ordinary Americans, dont know have enough decision making power, [?] do the right thing, not smart enough
You dont know how much it grates on them at CBS that its something like FreeRepublic or one of their chat rooms or one of the FReepers there or the Powerline
you have no idea that it irritates them that that kind of person brought them down. An average, ordinary untrained journalist that
you just do not know how this irritates them inside. More than the fact that they got caught, its who caught them that irritates them.
And, so just as I started out
I was a fad, and I was a liar, and I made it up and I was bad for America and I posed threats to democracy, as the cover of Time said. So now the same things are being said about the bloggers. Fox news has had its turn and we all continue rotating in the criticism carousel of the left.

Rush's screenname is "Real Rush". He posted here just once years ago in regard to some article about him. I just checked but the "in forum" link on his FR homepage does not show the post. I assume it is too old to show up any longer.

Jenya, congrats for being first up with this.
Jim, your vision is fulfilled, you created the check and balance on the MSM.

I sure hope that my husband was listening to Rush! Maybe he won't complain so much.

Rush said the BLoggers on FreeRepublic aka The Pajama Hadeen took down CBS! Thankfully, Rush referred to us as FREEPERS, not the "Pajamahadeen." (I personally see no reason why we would want to be referred to by a name that smacks of the Islamist Mujahideen.)

we could be a real educational tool for a lot of "fence sitters!" Indeed. We don't keep the truth under a bushel basket, like the snob media does.

From that same article......
"I'm reaching the point where I want to ratchet down considerably the volume of coverage we give to the campaigns' back-and-forth and ratchet up the coverage we give to where the candidates stand on the issues," says Douglas Clifton, editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland.
Great! Glad to hear it!

Does anyone have that pic Rush had, a bout "Your Average FReeper"? Wasn't it less than complimentary?

I always get a sinking feeling when FR just so slow like this -- reminds me of 9-11.

Hey, Rush. When you mentioned FR, I was sitting here in my office chuckling because I just witnessed my colleagues in liberal academia making "Dan Bla
ther jokes." Your timely, eloquent comments were the icing on the cake.
Have a FReepin' good day. :-)

"Rush used to think Freepers were conspiracy theorists. Good to see he's changed his tune." Wrongo.
Rush thinks SOME who post here are conspiracy theorist kooks, and he's right. Some are, although they're getting weeded out.

I agree. I think Freepers should agree on a name. Pajama Brigade, Pajama Patrol, Pajama Squad....perhaps Jim Robinson can make a suggestion thread with a vote?
Also, I prefer Rathergate over Memogate. I like to see dirty Dan's name in the term.

Stll, it's worth it. He mentioned how it's natural other organizations want to take credit for this, but two sites in particular broke this. FreeRepublic being one. Reagan had a nice quote about credit. Basically, that it is secondary in importance to reaching the objective.
