Ordinary Americans have dragged slowly but surely other big institutions to the truth. The big institutions were the last to arrive at the truth and some of them to this moment are still not there.

Now I realize that within this new alternative media there exists some jealosy,. I sense that some people don’t want to give the blogosphere the full credit. They have to parcel it out because every body wants a piece of the action; this is quite normal, this is human nature. The fact of the matter is that it was the blogosphere and it was a couple of sites: Powerline and FreeRepublic. And FreeRepublic has been one of the most impugned blogs / websites in the history of websites by the very institution that has been brought down.

When Dan Rather talked about partisan political operatives, he means those who lurk at FreeRepublic. Who is FreeRepublic, it’s ordinary Americans – liberals look down at ordinary Americans, don’t know have enough decision making power, [?] do the right thing, not smart enough …

You don’t know how much it grates on them at CBS that its something like FreeRepublic or one of their chat rooms or one of the FReepers there or the Powerline … you have no idea that it irritates them that that kind of person brought them down. An average, ordinary untrained journalist that … you just do not know how this irritates them inside. More than the fact that they got caught, it’s who caught them that irritates them.

And, so just as I started out … I was a fad, and I was a liar, and I made it up and I was bad for America and I posed threats to democracy, as the cover of Time said. So now the same things are being said about the bloggers. Fox news has had its turn and we all continue rotating in the criticism carousel of the left.

I still remember the day back in 1989 when my wife called me and said to tune in to the guy on KINS 980 here in Eureka because he is saying things we wanted said. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I listened a couple of days and then called the station and told them I wanted to advertise on Rush's show knowing the liberals would not spend a dine to support him. We advertise on the show to this day plus we sponsored both of his "RUSH TO EXCELLENCE" tours to the north coast in those days.

Yes, you are correct. The truth is what bought them down. Unfortunately, the MSM does this. It took Freepers to bring the truth out and in such a timely matter that the story didn't stick like the rats had hoped for. Who knows, maybe those rats knew they would be discovered but time would have gone by and the retraction wouldn't have been such news as this became. You know retraction on page 88b

It's good, great for Freepers to pat themselves on the back. I've been bragging to family about Howlin, Buckhead and all Freepers. It's a good thing, nothing to fear... Freepers are vigilant

And dittos for what you said! After Ronald Reagan, Rush stepped in to be the Godfather of the conservative movement. I'll always love the man for waking me up from a sleepwalk. One of the reasons dems are howling and screaming at the top of their lungs is that Rush and his minions have spread the truth, which counters their pathetic lies.

Just the other day, Rush's name came up in conversation with a liberal guy, who was spouting the liberal mantra, such as haliburton, all for oil, illegal war, no WMD"S, etc. He then said, "i'll but you like Rush Limbaugh", to which i replied"Yes, I listen to him every day". He came back with the tirade about drugs, but then I said"I have learned more from rush in the 12+ years I have listened to him, than ALL of the Mainstream media COMBINED.

for rush, there are MANY things I wouldn't have known, over the last decade. Of course, now there are others, like Hannity, Beck, Savage, Ann Coulter, and so on, BUT OLD RUSH WAS, AND IS, THE PIONEER

BTW-- Remember back in 2000, when Gore was ahead of W after his convention, after the"kiss"? The lead grew to over 10 points after labor day. Most pundits were writing off Bush. But not Rush. he kept his head up, and helped the rest of us to do the same. THEN, two things happened, at almost the same time. It was around this time of the year, IIRC First, there was the "Oprah" episode, with W on it. at the same time, in the same week, Gore got caught in multiple lies. A lie about his mother's medication, which turned out to be for the DOG. a lie about a woman picking up bottles and cans, Gore saying that she did it for living money, then it was revealed that she was NOT poor at all, she picked up the bottles and cans because she WANTED to. Third lie, the school desk episode, where Gore said a girl in Florida, IIRC, went for weeks without a desk, then it was revealed it was for a COUPLE OF HOURS, during ALL of this Rush kept saying, "Bush is going to win this! trust me! and sure enough, the tide turned, and even though the demoncrats pulled the last -second DUI ploy, W still won-- after all of the count-recount-recount fiasco was over.

SO, RUSH, WE DO OWE YOU ALL A WHOLE LOT. THANKS, FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.

Btw-- how soon, before the term "pajama person" gets put in the dictionary?
