The hot rumor in New York political circles has Roger Stone, the longtime GOP activist, as the source for Dan Rather's dubious Texas Air National Guard "memos."
The irony would be delicious, since Rather became famous confronting President Nixon, in whose service a very young Stone became associated with political "dirty tricks."
Reached at his Florida home, Stone had no comment.

Dan Rather has lost it. The Emperor has been shown to be totally naked & Rather's still claiming him to be fully dressed.
BTW, Rather also claims the Emperor's wearing pajamas.

And, they have the forged documents to prove the link! These people are so desperate that they'll say or do anything to deflect their own angst that the election is rapidly slipping through their fingers and they are completely powerless to stop it.
All of these tin foil hat thoeries will be used as their lengthy list of reasons and methods that the election was stolen from them yet again. They simply refuse to believe that the American public is not going to buy their bulls... or their incredibly lame candidate. There will be articles published to that effect starting in December.
And, four years from now, they'll be back selling the same old, rusted out Edsel and complaining about how "they wuz robbed" in 2004!
A very clever ploy... unless the fraud is discovered two days after John Kerry wins the election.
The simpler, and thus more likely explanation is that some overeager Democrat forged the documents to help John Kerry. Perhaps our eager beaver will claim that he or she was merely "recreating" documents that "had to have existed at one time". This is much more likely than a Karl Rove, double-pump, head-fake-to-the-left, end run around the right, inverse triple sting with a full twisting somersault.
