Sorry for the vanity, but I just received this email from a good friend whose son is in Iraq. She is very stressed with her son being over there, but believes it is for a good cause. I felt the need to share it here and know she doesn't mind.

I firmly believe we are fighting evil in a world battleground. Radical Islamists want to bring the U.S.A down. We cannot stand by and let them do this piece by piece as they were attempting to do during the Clinton years. We need to push on, help Iraq become a democracy and spread that democracy in the Middle East. It's either that or let democracy die worldwide.

Thank you very much for sharing.
To Marine's Mom : Here's hoping your son keeps up the good work he and the other patriots are doing for us over there, and I wish you & your family the best. May God bless you and bring your son and all the others home safe and sound. When you write to your son again, please let him know we all are pulling for him and his buds, and we BELIEVE in them, and SUPPORT them 100%.
As for Bush...It's in the bag! ;)

when my son was on duty in Subs, it drove me nuts to not be able to talk to him, or even know where he was. I talked to a man from Tel Aviv, and he explained that in Israel, the Mothers don't even get to know where their children are.

It is the pain and suffering that every Mother goes through when her child serves their country. her story brings tears to my eyes. and I pray for her Son, and all the best and brightest that are fighting these evil people. God Please protect them.

On skerry, retreat which he calls for would be a massacre of our troops. He is dangerous and must not be allowed to win this election. VOTE BUSH

Please let this mother know that there are lots of grateful Americans who consider their son's service to be most noble and that their contribution will NEVER BE FOR NOTHING. Regardless of any end result, all American solders fight for the greater good of the world.... and that we understand that.

Please tell your friend, the marine mom that I just got through a year of my son serving as a medic between Fallujah and Ramadi that it is and will be a stressful time. He wrote of how important his job was and the support he received daily. He is in Kuwait waiting to return home to Fort Hood after exactly one year. He arrived in Iraq on Sept. 11 and left on Sept. 11. We are happy to have him home. Our young men are the best, they love this country and believe in their commander in chief. Please tell your friend that her son is special, since he is fighting for our country and to keep busy letting him know how special he is, it does help with troop morale. God Bless you all.

Dear Mother of a Marine,

You are a wonderful Mom and your sentiments help your son to feel solidly supported and worthwhile. That high degree of morale and purpose will help to keep him safe and sound. The Marines are very well trained and know what they're doing.

Having said that, I cannot begin to imagine what it is like for you so my heart goes out to you and your family. Most of all, here an "Oo-rah!" for that brave Marine and God bless you all.

Bless your friend heavy heart. Please let her know that we have a military prayer list on the "A Day in the Life of President Bush" thread.

If you could pass on a message that she shouldn't be apologizing for her opinions. She is not only intitled to her opinion, she has a vested interest in the daily events in Iraq.

While I don't recommend that "Mother Of A Marine" read the article linked below...
I suggest it for others.
And ponder if there is much difference between the DNC/MoveOn.Org and the
"German propogandists" of WWI mentioned in the article.

I'm praying for all our troops in service.
And that they'll all have the INCREDIBLE fortitude of the mother of Quentin Roosevelt.

He said well I feel if Bush wins we pretty much already know what our future holds. But, if Kerry wins who knows what might happen.

Pretty much sums it up. GW says what he means and means what he says. JohhnyNam just says whatever will work towards getting him elected on any given day to any given crowd. He has no plan and even if he did, he would never act on it consistently and persistently. That pattern of behavior as President would only serve to bolden our enemies and get more of our servicemen and citizens killed. He's a dangerous empty suit.

My post 15 was too obtuse.

Just let me say G-d Bless Edith Roosevelt and all the mothers and fathers
whose children have gone in harm's way.
And the grace and consolation to bear the loss of any of them.

(see paragraphs 4 and 5; it's a story that should be common knowledge)

Thanks you for posting this message. As a former Marine please convey my deepest respect to your friend, and thank her for both her sacrifice and that of her family. Thank her for putting aside her fear and seeing the situation in Iraq for what it is: the battle of Good versus Evil. Her sons and the thousands like him are fighting for the freedom God intended all of us to have. Having a son away at war is no easy matter, and our hearts and prayers are with her. May God's Blessing be upon your friend, her family, and her son.

I think this great lady will get almost 100% support from Freepers. Having adopted a soldier of my own, I feel like I have a son over there.

I wept when he told me that a mortar landed close to him and didn't go off. I was a wreck that entire day, imagine the emotions if I was his real biological mom. They need prayers too.

I recommend everybody adopt a soldier and be their best friend and supporter.

If anyone needs to adopt, please freepmail me.

Even though Komrade Kerry was in the Navy, he ran with the hate the military crowd after the war and voted against the military every chance he got, I can't trust this man a single heartbeat of being in control of the world's most potent armed force. He would convert it to the World's most impotent force.
