Matt Drudge just announced that CBS will admit, maybe as soon as tomorrow, that they were 'deceived' and are launching an intensive, in-depth investigation.
DALLAS59 WROTE: "BREAKING! DAN RATHER WILL BREAK STORY ABOUT FORGED DOCUMENTS!"
LOL!!!
In the future, if CBS uses the phrase "unimpeachable source," they will be met with gales of laughter. It will be a running gag from now on.
I'm not buying their copout...
But how many Americans WILL?
I think they will stick by the story, while admitting the documents are frauds..and THAT really will fry their credibility.
We have now heard enough about his excess points, serving without pay during the Alabama stint and seen enough..Alot of ex military and ex Guard members have explained it all thoroughly on here..and the ability to make up points has been explained.

Bushs National Guard years
Before you fall for Dems spin, here are the facts
BTW, who the hell watches the MSM networks? In our house, we listen to Rush during the day. In the evenings, watch The History Channel, Discovery, Outdoor Channel (fishing/hunting), M*A*S*H, WINGS, Fox News, and classic movies. That's about it. All the rest is crap soap operas, silly sit-coms and mis-reported left-slanted 'news.'
This election is over. Rather has blown it.
Don't even THINK about going there! Do NOT get cocky! It aint over till it's over, y'know? I pray we can share a victory drink in November, but I aint even thinking for a second that we can turn our backs on these slimes!
I hope buckhead can account for his whereabouts for the last several months.
Bush Questions Authenticity of 'Documents' - Keeping the Story Alive.

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) questioned the authenticity of documents aired by CBS News that said he received special treatment during his Vietnam-era service in the National Guard, according to a Bush interview published on Saturday.
"There are a lot of questions about the documents and they need to be answered," Bush told the Union Leader newspaper of Manchester, New Hampshire, after a week in which some experts questioned whether the documents had been fabricated by those seeking to damage Bush in his re-election race.
"I think what needs to happen is people need to take a look at the documents, how they were created, and let the truth come out," Bush added. (Excerpt) Read more at news.yahoo.com ...

I sure hope you are raising children! Sounds like a great home to grow up in.
Question,Spanaway Washington?
Shoot, I thought Dan-o was supposed to "break" this story. Looks like he got scooped again.
I LOVED watching that when I were a kid! (Did I ever be a kid?)
Far too many I'm sure...
HEE HEE, already been done by our own buckhead at FR!
I find the timing of this RATHERGATE scandal "suspicious".
Yes, a big fat Rather Rat, that's just what I suspected the moment I read the NY Times story! I can't imagine Burkett will be admitting criminal culpability to multiple felony counts on camera, so the only plausible scenarios at this point are,
(1) Burkett (perhaps with CBS urging him on) concocts another fairytale in which he received the documents in good faith from some mysterious intermediary, maybe a Karl Rove dirty trick (yeah, right!), or maybe some very private, secretive retired TANG officer who wishes to remain anonymous.
No one should fall for that of course, and if CBS hasn't already ripped Burkett a new orifice they'd better do so quickly -- but I worry that Burkett can just go to ground and wait it out until after the election.
(2) The other possibility I see is that Burkett tried to maintain his original story and the CBS execs had finally had enough, deciding to pitch him to the wolves. That would be the sensible thing, if CBS doesn't want to see CBS News ruined forever (wish it were already, but maybe the beast will refuse to die).
But it's much more likely that some version of (1) is going down now, and Burkett and CBS will continue to collude as long as they can. They will try to make it out to be Republican dirty tricks, or they will keep trying to re-direct the story to the content of the memos. Burkett will swear on a stack of bibles that he knows the memos to be accurate, but no one in their right mind would believe a word out of his vile mouth. That doesn't mean plenty of Democrats won't believe him, though.....
