If I hadn't seen it for myself I wouldn't have believed it. Living on the west side of the Cascade mountains not far from Seattle I am accustomed to seeing Kerry/Edwards signs practically everywhere.
My husband and I went to the Puyallup Fair which is one of the largest in the country and draws thousands. Under the grandstand there were the Democrat and Republicans booths handing out yard signs, stickers etc. After spending all day and night at the fair I can tell you that 8 out of 10 fair goers who were making a political statement were either wearing or carrying a Bush/Cheney sign. Even more surprising was that most were young people. Even a few vendors had Bush/Cheney stickers on their tables. I did not see one vendor with a Kerry/Edwards sticker.
Oh, but I am in California. I understand completely. :)
You forgot to mention that it rains all the time.
I went to the WSF wearing a tee shirt saying, Proud Vietnam Veteran AGAINST John Kerry. I had alot of people from teenagers to people in thier 80's stop me and say they like the shirt!! Just maybe there is hope for this state. Oh, by the way I live near Sequim where it rains 360 days a year!!
Made you feel good huh seeing all those people supporting Bush, especially being so outnumbered most of the time. I really couldn't believe my eyes! I finally felt comfortable in my community.
Reagan in 1984
Thank you I thought it might have been Reagan. Gee that's a long time ago.
Bush 62-38.
It does not rain on Seattle all the time! You just don't want people moving here! We had NO rain this summer...just blue skies!! It is GORGEOUS here and soooo much to do!
You NEED to come here...it is the most beautiful state in the lower 48!! It's got EVERYTHING!! Just don't come in the winter!
You really think so. I have a hard time believing it as much as I would want to.
Psst... do you want people to actually move here and waste their votes when they could be turning the tide somewhere other than the Najaf Northwest, the Shiite Seattle?
Lenin's statue is MUCh bigger than 6 feet tall....isn't it? It seems like at least 8 ft. tall! My LIBERAL in-laws were aghast at seeing it!! :.)
The weather here is beautiful. Yes it rains in the fall and winter, but the summers are fantastic! We had 33 straight days of no rain and 80+ degrees. Green lush forests, fantastic fishing, hiking and swimming. In the winter you have a short drive to skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, etc.
Shhhhhhh!
Yes it does rain here all the time and don't you dare tell people otherwise. I mean today it was 60 degrees and rain, rain and more rain. Where else do you run your heater before the end of summer?
Just wanted to step in from the steady drizzle to add my two cents.
Tho it's true that more people voted democrat in the primary, you shouldn't be fooled. The republican contests were somewhat decided already while the democrats had a big fight on their hands about who would be their gub. nominee.
I know of a few who voted for Gregoire, because they perceive her to be the weaker candidate.
Washington will go to the pubbies this time around. Rossi is running a great campaign for Gov. and Bush is definitely gaining on sKerry.
Very beautiful horses! Seeing photos like this makes me want to run out and buy a couple of them. Well, only Republican horses of course.
I'm disappointed that you mentioned a steady drizzle instead of rain, but having said that, I think you're right but I don't expect Rossi, Nethercutt or Bush to have much of chance.
