I read about that, too. All his liberal media friends attended his party...McCain cares for McCain. Period. I don't know why more people can't see that. Then again, in 2000, Bush destroyed McCain after New Hampshire and Michigan. The media likes to point out the anti-McCain ads that ran in South Carolina..those ads were NOT run by the Bush Campaign..however, the media ignores all the ads run DIRECTLY by the McCain Campaign in Michigan - where he had his campaign phoning everyone in Michigan telling them that George W. Bush was anti-Catholic. Just another reason I hate the media - and McCain.
Thune's knocking it out of the park! He's improved a LOT since '02. He poised and assertive. Great job!
I wonder about the message of saying Iraq is like Vietnam, and I'll get you out.
Doesn't this just support the message of what the Swiftvets and the Republicans have been saying all along about Kerry.
When the going gets tough, Kerry turns anti-war, and won't this just bring up his old anti-war betrayals after Vietnam?
I can't imagine that they'd find it effective to go with a message like this.
It would play well to the Deaniacs, and some of the Dem base, but beyond that, seems too reminiscent of his Vietnam anti-war talk to me.
Icarix, since you're from South Dakota, can you give us the rundown on the Middle Eastern South Dakota member of Congress Daschle got his start under?
What ever happened to the guy? We need to be reminded of just where little Tommy got his experience to enter Congress.
Very true. Good point. I've never heard Kerry criticize France and Germany - only the U.S.
Yep -- they showed it!!! LOL!!!!!!
Russert isn't pulling any punches with Tommy.
There is no way we win New Mexico. I travel there frequently and know quite a few conservatives and the corruption is incredible. Tell your New Mexico friends that if they still can register to vote do so, but, register as a Rat because if you register as a Republican your voter registration card will arrive on November 3rd.
Fortunately (or Unfortuantely), I haven't been around that long. I'm only 29 and Daschole's been around as long as I can remember. I can do the research though and post more later if you like.
We're on the same page re trusting McCain. I once read somewhere that while he was a POW that he was seen sitting around w/the NV guards, he was eating fruit and laughing. Now, I'll have to find that little nugget of an observation and verify my memory of reading it.
Oh, I'll give Tommy credit for being slick. I just can't believe the good people in my neighboring state of S.D. are going to fall for this guy's act again. Thune's a great candidate -- attractive, down-home, good values.
I think it's time to send Thune another contribution! :-)
Here's my take on the debates and the "timing" of them.
I think the debates will be scheduled "late" this year.
Baker is negotiating for Bush/Cheney and we haven't had a date set yet (at least not that I've read).
The debates will be like the convention...big bounce. But by sceduling them late, Kerry/Edwards will have little to no time to recover from their impact.
Just MHO.
Pretty predictable questions and answers.
Timmy is his usual smarmy self
Thune is sort of a disappointment. He had a couple of chances to hit one out of the park, but instead he just danced and weaved. Saddam's WMDs are in Syria. We all know that, but nobody will say it. John passed up the opportunity and just stammered around instead.
Despite Thune's insipidness, I still say The Deeply Saddened One is history.
Sheesh! What a horrible thought. McCain will be pretty old by then, but who knows? I think he wants to be Secretary of Defense in a Kerry Administration but what do I know? Mostly, McCain loves being a media darling and the only way he can do that is to give minimal support to President Bush while continuing to criticize the Administration on TV. McCain is one of the most self-absorbed pols I have ever seen - no wonder he likes Kerry so much.
I guess we disagree. Thune's doing fine... better than fine. Daschle is nervous and it shows.
(And I admit that I thought Thune was weak in '02. He's not taking it this time.)
Heard on C-Span this morning from the head of the debate commission that the first debate must be Sept.30th.
Thune just said the one moment tommie hugged GW was the only bi-partisan moment in his career, or to that effect, dashhole now bringing up reagan and bush 41--I smell desperation here, dashhole has invoked everything that ever happened that was not liberal in his career, running scared.
