WASHINGTON It was the first public allegation that CBS News used forged memos in its report questioning President Bush's National Guard service a highly technical explanation posted within hours of airtime citing proportional spacing and font styles.
But it did not come from an expert in typography or typewriter history as some first thought. Instead, it was the work of Harry W. MacDougald, an Atlanta lawyer with strong ties to conservative Republican causes who helped draft the petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Times has found.

So? I don't get it.
While they think they are negatively spinning the story, in reality they are only highlighting the fact that Dan Rather lied, for another news cycle.
I love it.
No believes a Liberal "CAN" find fault with any forgery about anything.
Yes.

:)
Buckhead's affiliations have nothing to do with the fact that the documents which Rather unwisely chose to use to support his attack against the Prez were discovered to be forgeries. What!--- someone who can recognize a forgery cannot be trusted because he's a conservative? Suuure, that makes a LOT of sense.
Way to go Buckhead ! I could care less what the MSM thinks of us and I'm hardly afraid of any of them,
With your Faith and your Friends'here at FR no one can touch you
God Bless
So what! Glad he's around to figure out forged documents!

Buckhead, I thought you were a flaming liberal.
Why did the LA Times not only identify the man by name but also post the link to his law firm's website, unless it wanted to punish him by inviting a flood of calls from angry Kerry supporters?
"When he's not absorbed with work, I think he spends the rest of his life in the wee hours of the morning on freerepublic" in his jammies. LOL. Buckhead, your picture is now on my wallpaper and you're in the ranks of Paul Galanti as one of my heros. God Bless you.
I could probably track down the home address and phone number of the article's author. But there doesn't seem to be a point to it.
I just watched the video of the award to the firm of the Thurgood Marshall foundation award. They did mention diversity of ideas. .... wonder whether Buckhead is a partner or an associate.
Evidently "MERCAT" is a celtic word for market. hmmm. I thought that I had made the name up. I've had this screen name for well over ten years. It's on my vanity license plate. But I'm old and don't give a fig whether I'm "outed."
Time to do some harvesting, Tribune Company.
But this is hardly the last straw.
When I was fighting for George W. Bush in 2000 California primary and November election, and going up against the Dems on the web as well as donating my time, treasure and efforts to getting information out to 4 precincts here and other individuals around the country....
I knew I could run into the emnity of the Clintonistas, so it was real scary when I found out my home mortgage had been sold to a company in Arkansas.
But if God be for me, who can be against me? Or, rather, I know I am saved by the sacrifice of our precious Savior, so what matters material goods and the vanities of this life?
So, I accepted that I was a good person to do this grassroots work, as I have no children to protect, just the future of all American children; and I'm older and disabled, so it is no big loss if I am attacked by nutcases or evil villians from the left wing fascist side.
Personally, I think mercats (mere cats?) are cool!
Cheers!
So the L.A. Times forces us to excerpt, yet they feel free to raid our archives?
To them it's all about the VRWC and nothing more, to the rest of us, it's setting the record straight and calling these documents and the partisan media the obvious frauds that they are.
