TankerKC was the first alerter.

I know. I was hesitant to post his handle lest some MSM news hound start a full scale investigation to find out if he's a republican.

Why doesn't the LA Times and the rest of the MSM use the same amount of effort and ferreting out of Kerry's Military and Medical records as they did this story?

Why aren't they asking what Kerry has to hide by NOT signing a 180?

How did they get Buckhead's name LEGALLY?

Did they break laws in doing so?

I don't know about copywriting, but I agree with your last sentiment.

Any publicity is good, I heard about F.R when a caller mentioned it on talk radio show, googled it, and wow!

The more people who hear about us the more will visit, and hopefully stay.

I just want to wish you the best with everything that is going on.And thank you for doing the job that the MSM neglected to do.

I think a high school cub reporter could have done a better job at getting to the truth than these alleged professionals over at See BS.

Ya think?

There's rich irony in a newspaper "outing" someone who has made an anonymous comment (since when is anonymous political speech not protected?) questioning the validity of anonymously provided documents prostituted by CBS in an effort to harm a president's re-election.

Where is the LATimes investigation in the CBS documents? Into the Kinkos?

Where's the LATimes investigation into the half-million dollars to Democrats and Kerry given by the president's accuser? Those things don't even take but a minute to check and yet they can spend time reading TWO YEARS worth of posts on FreeRepublic and correlating it with 270 million possible suspects?

Buckhead has been singled out and I'm heartbroken. Why? He was NOT the first, he's not been the chief nor only questioner, nor the sole investigator of the documents' origins. There's no rationale for this piece by the LATimes. Do they mention THEY SUED FR in this presumably balanced piece? Do they mention the family of the alleged author of the documents saying he wasn't a typist, never mention the things claimed in the documents and didn't talk that way? Do they mention the alleged author's secretary says she did not type those documents, that she believes they're frauds? Do they mention CBS' own experts saw only *one* document each, raised concerns and were ignored? Do they ask why USA Today has SIX documents and CBS continues to assert there are only FOUR when the fifth document was given to a CBS expert for authentication! Do they ask how someone who was already retired could be putting pressure ? Do they find out if there's any record of ? Do they locate a Selectric of the area? Do they investigate the non-Guarde language used in the document? Do they investigate how a Tennessee Democrat party operative can PREDICT (in archived radio) the documents are coming weeks before the story breaks? Do they investigate who has a long-standing public grudge against the president and happens to have a running account at the Kinkos? And those are just a few questions they could do if they were really interested in INVESTIGATING.

Do they investigate why Kerry claims to have released all his documents when we know from an FOIA lawsuit that there are *AT LEAST* 31 PAGES HIDDEN and UNREVEALED?

DO THEY ASK ANYTHING THAT MATTERS ABOUT THIS STORY OR DO THEY SPIN FOR THE DEMOCRAT PARTY (TERRY'S BASELESS CLAIM ROVE DID IT) AND JOHN KERRY'S INTERESTS?

Hopefully this works this time. Here is a compilation of some of the best quotes from this whole thing here on Freerepublic.com::::

I went to DU and any thread on this subject is immediately locked. How come? Cognitive dissonance.

Not to beat our own drum, but you can post ANY question here and get it answered by people with expert knowledge in less than 30 minutes. We constantly have stuff here---not always in the articles, but often in the commentary---that is way ahead of the news. And that's how newspapers used to be prior to Jackson: a "broadside" would arrive in an inn or tavern or coffee house and people would gather as a literate person read. Then they would begin to interject opinions and expertise and "edit" the story as they went. They would quickly decide if it was true or not!

Brit said they typed the memos in the newsroom on MS WORD and it matched! hahahahaha That was done here hours ago.

Hewitt's expert says CBS won't identify its expert. "Experts" are a dime a dozen. I used to work with this insurance guy, Tony, who taught me how the pros forge signatures. The secret is to turn the signature which you are duplicating upside down. That way when you forge the signature you are only duplicating what looks like a scribble instead of a group of letters. This negates any predisposition you have in the way that you normally write those letters. With a little practice, this method works amazingly well. Tony was clearly an "expert". Maybe CBS asked Tony.

CBS standing firm at this hour. Rigor mortis.

CBS will say they were fooled by these docs because their source is extremely credible and reliable. They will refuse to reveal the source. Rumor has it CBS got them from Art Bell, who got them from, well, we don't exactly know -- but a recent CBS poll of the Milky Way Galaxy found that the galactic community is against GW by 85%.

It was inevitable---the thought of defeating their rivals at cbs was more important than solidarity with the losing kerry campaign. I love it when liberals eat their own.

The statement added that CBS reporters had verified the documents by talking to unidentified individuals who saw them "at the time they were written." This is probably true. They were likely declared "authentic" by people who saw them written - in 2004.

I wonder if Rather will fall on his sword....Or squeal like the 'Rat he is…

Fox should send Brit with a hand held camera over to CBS banging on the door, Mike Wallace(or fatso Moore) style, asking questions about the forgeries. That'd be a hoot. ROFLMAO hey lets send the Protest Warriors!!!

ROFLMAO hey lets send the Protest Warriors!!! CBS Limosine Liberals spotted fleeing NYC! hahahahaha

Rathergate

gee Jim, do you mean like woodward & bernstein's "Deep Throat" who was "secret scorce" quoted as gospel in their book, but has never been questioned or seen to back up their "facts"? Well, does that mean that all we have to do is talk to "Deep Font", and we'll know who made the fake docs??

CBS probably paid big $ for the documents to someone who knows liberals are stupid.

My dream is that Michael Moore is the one who forged these documents and he gets outed for it.

"It has come to our attention, here at CBS, that the documents we hoped would be the nail in Bush's coffin were forgeries. We’re sorry our reporting is shakier than cafeteria Jell-O. We're really very sorry the documents were not genuine. We're even more sorry the world found out about that. Right now we’re about as uncomfortable as a too-small bathing suit on a too-long ride home from the beach. We're sorry we didn't have any REAL dirt on President Bush. We're sorry that Kerry is such a weak candidate. We're sorry that none of the mud we continue to throw at the President seems to be sticking. We've lived by the crystal ball, we're eating so much broken glass. We're in critical condition. We're sorry, we're sorry, we're SO sorry."

"I was used like a two dollar hooker who got paid with forty wooden nickels."

Yeah, I like this part: And Democrats can rightly say that Fox News Channel seems to like the "forgery" story more than the original CBS version. Oh, that Fox, focusing on the "forgery" angle over the "CBS version". The unfairness of it all!" LOL

"Buckhead seems well-read on his forensic document examination skills." This comes as no surprise to those familiar with Free Republic. Extremely well-read, well informed, and intelligent people post consistently on FR.

New 527: "Buckheads for Bush!"

DUmmie Quote of the Year: Oh, please. Like a bunch of amateurs on the Internet would be able to figure out something that CBS News stuck its neck out over and never thought to investigate. Riiight.

Oh, please. Like a bunch of amateurs on the Internet would be able to figure out something that CBS News stuck its neck out over and never thought to investigate. Riiight. That reminds me of a story about Mark Bavaro, the former Giants tight end. His first season, he threw a block that pancaked a famous defensive end. Of course, Bavaro needled the guy for that. The guy, infuriated, yelled "Who the hell are you?" To which Bavaro said, "I'm a nobody - but what does that say about YOU?" Very fitting in this case. We're all amateur journalists here. Yet we've brought yet another bogus MSM story down. What does that say about THEM?

"I love the guy," Staudt said of Bush. "I'm so tired of this negative crap about him that I'd like to volunteer to build a barn and take you press guys out behind it and kick your asses." Maybe that Time reporter should get hazardous duty pay.

Dan Rather interview...I think Rather actually said the seriousness of the charges is more important than the authenticity of the documents.

John Kerry did not give the fake doc's to CBS before he gave them to CBS

Mr Rather....Tear down this wall!!

who helped draft the petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Buck ....we ever meet the beer is on me..

YEAH, Buckhead!!! Great Job with Clinton -- and -- with the memos.

The liberal media doesn't consider conservatives as actual PEOPLE. If a document is forged in the forest and only conservatives see it, is it really forged??

Here's MY personal info if you want to investigate my predilections. Keep it up, LA Times. You're heading towards subscription loss and possible lawsuits. Rodger Hunter Orange County, CA Navy Veteran: 1975 - 1986

The LA Times is now expecting to get the Pulitzer for uncovering FR's DEEP THROAT!

Newsflash to the LA Times: We are all Conservatives here at FR. And some huge percentage of us have jobs, many of those jobs being professional in nature. Further, many of us are highly experienced 40 and 50-something year olds who are not likely to swallow the pap that passes for journalism these days. We have been in the military, in government, in international business. This is not a conspiracy. Karl Rove did not engineer this. This is not a Republican plot. It is just the way it is.

Will said that the time of Big Monopoly in the media is over. He said the 527's, talk radio and the internet rule where Old Media once did.

It is so comforting to know, that when they deem necessary, the Lame Stream Media can actually uncover something.
Now that this is out of the way, can they please tell us who forged the memo's.
Looks like the LA Times, spilled milk all over little Keith. That was fun...sheeeeshh!
Buckhead outed??? Why is this news? Did he lie to anyone, forge anything, or claim to be something he isn't?
NO that would be the DNCCBSANDJFK.
Leave Buckhead alone! The only thing he has done, is to help foil the little devious underhanded lie, perpetrated by the above mentioned alphabet people.
I Call him a Patriotic American fighting the axis of evil journalism! He deserves Sainthood! St. Buckehead! The patron Saint of all who want the truth!

I guess my point is, what does outing buckhead have to do with the facts? CBS DNC & J E'ffn's people are vile and corrupt frauds, liars, forgers, and must be held accountable, and stopped!!!!
Again,

LaSlimes builds a Dagwood sandwich of innuendo and smear, repeats CBS empty defenses uncritically, and begins the sharpening of the long knives. They were taken aback, for a moment, and now have restarted the Bias Express that they tried to run Arnold down with....

Caution, folks, the MSM ain't dead yet, it's only wounded...

Nope... I think it was Halliburton in the parlor with a crowbar!!!!!!

I really think that these liberal idiots need to 'get a clue' or 'buy a vowel'...........

We could make a fortune from them if we sold tin foil hats with liberal sun visors.....
