Our identities are secure unless we post personal information about ourselves.
As an example, if someone were really serious about finding me they could. My profile shows the small town I live in. My posting history reveals bits and pieces of my personal experiences. Someone with lots of time on their hands could eventually figure out who I am if they really were motivated to do so.
With Buckhead the the Times was extremely motivated to find out who he was. They put 2 + 2 together and then more than likely called the person they suspected to be him and asked him if it was him.

The documents were forged regardless of who outed CBS.

Newsflash to the LA Times: We are all Conservatives here at FR. And some huge percentage of us have jobs, many of those jobs being professional in nature. Further, many of us are highly experienced 40 and 50-something year olds who are not likely to swallow the pap that passes for journalism these days. We have been in the military, in government, in international business. This is not a conspiracy. Karl Rove did not engineer this. This is not a Republican plot. It is just the way it is. Keep your facts straight, cut out the bullshit, and there should be no problems with the fact that thousands of educated, experienced, and opinionated people read and dissect everything you do.
well said. Maybe Buckhead is a succesful lawyer cuz he is smart as heck. And maybe cuz he's smart as heck he (first) spotted inconsistencies in those forged memos. Maybe, just maybe, Buckhead is a heck of a lot smarter than any of the clowns at CBS. Could that explain it rather than his 'conservative activism'? Maybe 'conservative activists' are smart as heck too!

Gee. . . maybe you should be his PR manager. . .
Anyways, do you think that the media would have been satisfied with that they're rabid dogs and if you give them an inch they'll want a mile. I'm sure Buckhead didn't start coming to FR to become a star and to place himself in the national spotlight.
His statement was entirely appropriate.

"......how he knew so much about the CBS documents so fast." Ummmm......Just a wild @ss guess but......
Could it possibly be that the documents were posted on the CBS web site as PDF files for all the Internet to see and that anybody over 40 that remembers having to use a typewriter can remember what monospaced typing looked like?

I'm shocked, shocked the Dog Trainer outed our very own Buckhead as a conservative activist! Why, those darned bloggers and their ties to the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy! We all know poor Dan Rather's its victim. (laughing)

Peter Wallsten Who is this Mr. Wallsten, by the way? What are his politics? Who are his friends? Where does he live? What is his phone number? What are his hobbies? What is his dog's name?
Get the drift?

"And who could have guessed that with the screen name 'buckhead' he would be from Atlanta?"
Apparently not Me!!!!(Hitting forehead with heel of hand) I was thinking deerhead instead of Buckhead. I really feel dumb.

Y'know, they could have "outed" him as a conservative activist without releasing his identity.
Make no mistake - this article was written for the express purpose of making sure Buckhead gets obscene phone calls at 3 AM (at the least). This is intimidation. Period.
The question is, can he make them pay. Considering he's a lawyer, maybe things are going to get interesting :)

It's actually a pretty good article.Perhaps, but the main point of is seems to be to have a chilling effect: "Don't cross the MSM and/or the Democrats, or we will get you." Hopefully Buckhead just doesn't care, but what if someone else on FR had mentioned it a few minutes before Buckhead, someone who could lose their job over being "outed" as a conservative?

Read the article, they explain it. They combed through 2 years of his postings to piece it together. All and all a better job of investigative reporting than CBS.

LMAO.........GREAT scoop, LA Times. Go**amned if I don't smell a Pulitzer here."
Go farther... Matt Drudge presenting the Pulitzer Prize for Journalism to Buckhead in front of the National Press Club!
What they don't understand is there are hundreds of thousands of experts and professionals watching over them now to keep them straight.
