For those that don't know what "Jumped the shark" means:
There used to be this pop-culture craze, a 70's T.V. show called "Happy Days" The show's popularity was unsurpassed, it was a marketing, ratings, mania bonanza! Each episode got a little more fantastic.. Then.. They announced for 6 weeks in a row that Fonzie was going to jump his Motorcycle over a live shark in a tank in the parking lot of Arnold's. Well, Fonzie jumped the shark, and the shows ratings promptly dropped like a brick.
Which brings me to my question...
Exactly -when- did Bill O'Reilly jump the shark? was it the street-corner at the DNC haggling with Michael Moore over the terms of Moore's appearance on The Factor? Was it When he soft-balled Bono? -Was it even (post) Current Affair?
It would seem that he has indeed jumped the shark. When Exactly in your opinion did he do it?
I think Technically Cavuto is #2 in line for the throne, but I don't see how they can -not- put Hannity in O'Reilly's slot..

About a year ago he did an anti-fundi story and an anti-homeschool story in the same week. Haven't seen him since but that's when he jumped in my opinion.
Yep! I couldn`t believe when he renounced it, comparing it to mud slinging by the Demon-crats. First of all, the Swifties have said over and over that they could care less about Bush, O`Neill even said he has donated more cash to democrats over the years than Repubs, yet O`Reilly treated them like they were a partisan group like Moveon.org. The Swift veterans solely have their beef with Kerry, and like the book says they don`t think he is "Fit for duty". O`Reilly threw this all in the "mudslinging" dept when the fact of the matter is the questions brought up by the Swifties is of great concern and importance about the character of Kerry. He is a guy who blatantly lied about Vietnam vets and his service, and this isn`t important? This is "mudslinging"? Should a guy who did this be in the White House as Commander in Chief?? Bill is out of his mind!

Bill O'Reilly rationalizes a lot of his behavior by saying he disses both sides...fair and balanced... and so forth.

for me it was many years ago when he suggested doctors should have their pay capped by government decree.
The thought that I could someday have to go into surgery and not be able to get a doctor who had risen to the top of his field due to hard work and monetary reward was revolting. I didn't watch him much before then, but that was all I needed to know that he was an idiot.
The Moore interview was so hyped and O'Reilly layed an egg and asked none of the important questions. He had his big moment and he blew it. Gotta go with the Moore interview.
He "jumped" when he exposed himself for what he is (and it was inevitable, just like Kerry's exposure). And what he is ... is ... a pathetic opportunist with no core beliefs beyond self-promotion. Sound familiar?
idumped hannity. (always gotta give him props for hard work and energy though). radio is rush, then a mix of medved, boortz, savage. divested all tv except for the fox-all-stars segment of special report with brit hume and the beltway boys.
O'Reilly jumped the shark when he said the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were "way out of line." The Swifties were the real deal and O'reilly ignored them.

When he went on Good Morning America to bash Bush and WMD. You know he wouldn't have gotten on the show if he were positive about Bush.
Neil is good. Judge Anthony Napolitano (sic) needs his own show, too.
