Whitehouse may release more military records

In a related development, White House press secretary Scott McClellan hinted that more documents regarding Bush's National Guard service may soon be released. Asked whether officials in the White House have seen unreleased documents, McClellan called that "a very real possibility." Other officials with knowledge of the situation said more documents had indeed been uncovered and would be released in the coming days.

Q Scott, can you say for certain that -- are you aware of any other documents regarding President Bush's service in the Guard that have not been released?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, actually, we talked about this earlier today -- some questions came up this morning. And if you'll recall back in February, the President directed the Department of Defense to do a comprehensive search, gather all the records, so that we can make them available publicly. The President's personnel, payroll and medical records were released in their entirety -- I notice you had a comment the other day, I just want to make sure that's clear and that's what I referred to back then. Since that time, there were some further media inquiries. The Department of Defense went back and did -- apparently they didn't do as comprehensive a search as we had requested, and they found some additional documents that weren't in any of those files. And so they have continued to scour through additional files that aren't part of the President's personnel, payroll, and medical files to see if there are any records relating to the President. And my understanding is that that work has continued. I don't know the latest update on it at this point.

Q Have you or others in the White House seen documents that have not yet been released?

MR. McCLELLAN: I have not. I'll try to check. We've been traveling, but I don't know of any other specific documents that have been found at this point. But I know that they're -- I know they're continuing to look at that, so that's a very real possibility.

Being suspended is not necesssarily a "bad" thing.

In Bush's case, he was transferring to Alabama where he wouldn't be flying. Not taking a physical at that time, and losing flying status was an expediencey, not a "bad" thing.

The forgers tried to set up the situation in the 01 February 72 memo, where they mentioned both Bath and Bush.

(On wizbangblog, Sep 13 - http://wizbangblog.com/archives/003652.php ) 1st forgery letter sets up Bath and Bush.
Document released in recent Administrative order 87 has the name of Bath redacted (blocked out) [1st view image].
Document released in 2000 Administrative order has unredacted version of the record, with Bath’s name visible [2nd view image].

This is how they knew Bath's name, to put in the forgery - (to give it a feel of authenticity).

These show that Bush was suspended.
Suspension in itself in not (necessarily) "bad".
The forgers aren't trying to make the case that Bush was suspended, but that he was suspended "for disobeying a direct order", and the reason he disobeyed (they say) was to avoid a drug test (they say he was a coke-head).

I didn't think that there was any question that he was suspended.

Doesn't the President admit that? Because he didn't take the physical since he wouldn't be able to fly in Alabama anyway?

Who the heck is Bath?

Bath is another pilot who was suspended at the same time that Bush was, for failure to take a physical. But Bath's name was blocked out on the recently released document.

The forgers had an older (unredacted) release of this record with Bath's name visible (they've been working on this for a long time).

By using Bath's name, as well as Bush's, they thought that it would give more legitimacy to the forgery.
