Statement by the President of CBS News, Andrew Heyward:
"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were accurate or we would not have put them on television. There was a great deal of coroborating [sic] evidence from people in a position to know. Having said that, given all the questions about them, we believe we should redouble our efforts to answer those questions, so that's what we are doing."

I'll put on my Kreskin hat and predict they'll say something like:
"For ONE FULL WEEK now, the Bush campaign has been stonewalling the serious issues brought forth by these memos."

All he knows is the party line about Bush's supposed lack of NG service, and that's all he keeps talking about. He's stupid and blinded by ideology.

after we call and e-m the affiliates, write VIACOM about our stocks in our 401ks, call and e-mail our congresspersons, call and e-mail CBS sponsors, write letters to newspaper editors, donate to the Swifties, and call the RNC to exhort them, there is one thing left we can do:
CALL YOUR CABLE COMPANY and ask them if there is a way to block CBS.
There is not one scintilla of doubt in my mind that the forgery came directly from the Kerry campaign and the DNC.
That's what this is all about, at its core.
The professional suicide of Dan Rather and CBS is just a bonus.
