If they have any news that is good for CBS then they will come on live. If it's bad news they will be cowards and put it in a written statement. IMO

Sure, at this rate they won't be making an announcement until Nov.3rd.
I though it was the perogative of women to keep an audience waiting, the Girlie men at CBS are putting all of us to shame.

I think CBS is acting this way to make the suspense even higher, to get as much viewership as possible, and then they will come off with some other lame excuse for what happened, trying to stain the blogs in the process--to the widest possible audience. It will only fly back in their faces, though.I predict 30 minutes of Hypno-Toad.

y'know what this was? this was a scam to keep the other media waiting instead of chasing the story today. everybody figured that cbs would say something of substance. now, they'll extend the ivan coverage another two minutes instead, because it's too late to cook up a piece for the network show.

Now CBS is writing a new release admiting the docs are fake, but that their content is true. And anybody that says otherwise is ignorant:
"Killian's former secretary, 86-year-old Marian Carr Knox, also questioned the documents in an interview with The Dallas Morning News. "These are not real," Knox said in a story posted Tuesday on the newspaper's Web site. "They're not what I typed, and I would have typed them for him."
Knox told the newspaper she did not recall typing the memos, but that they echoed Killian's views on Mr. Bush. She said he retained memos for a personal "cover his back" file he kept in a locked drawer of his desk, but she was not sure what happened to them when he died in 1984.
CBS News spokeswoman Sandra Genelius said CBS did not believe Knox was a documents expert and that the network believes the documents are genuine. "It is notable that she confirms the content of the documents, which was the primary focus of our story in the first place," Genelius said. "

(Sorry Mr. Franklin, We couldn't keep it.)
Big Scoop: Here's the announcement. Dan Rather is resigning, effective immediately, as CBS News attempts to chart a new course on "straight news reporting." His replacement will be Bill Clinton.
