The gullible AP reporter was probably six years old when the great John D. MacDonald died in the mid 1980s.

So, find out his real name and check it out. Minor doesn't even have to publish the other name, but he ought to document .
"Awwww. He's such a swell guy" is not a checked fact. Why should Minor's idea of a sweet feller have any relevance here?

No doubt the not-yet-sworn-in President Nixon secretly ordered this guy to go into Cambodia on Christmas of 1968 along with John Kerry.

The vet has received "nasty calls" since the issue has been publiclized, Minor says, adding, "This is a very peaceful guy. ? There's a peace about his voice." In other words, his information came from a phone interview with a guy that wouldn't even devulge his real name.
Is there no bottom to the MSM fishin' hole?

BTW, wouldn't there be a public record of this name change?
It would be worth digging around if so and it is possible.

If this reporter cannot come up with the original name of the Navy Seal, then he is just another liar. Reporters assume immunity from what they print. He should do some investigative reporting and prove his story. All he has done is convinced me he is untruthful, sloppy and gullable.

I wish they had mentioned that this fella is also a Muslim Imam....
I can't find it now but there was a link on the thread yesterday to an Albany mosque or Albany Muslim center that had him listed.

Maybe if you can get him to agree...someone can get some finger prints then we can find out who the clown really is. What a big man to make accusations, but not post his given name. I wonder if he is raising mini jihadist? (sp)

Majied, a Democrat"I really trust this guy," he said. "I believe he's a real straight shooter."
I guess that's all the AP reporter needed to verify this guy's story. He undoubtedly trusted Clinton too.

We have Albany, Ga. Maybe we can find out more. How many 30-yr vets have kids at home young enough to homeschool? This guy started poppin' 'em out late, or he married a really young gal in hijab.

Apparently, journalists have no capacity for learning from the mistakes of each other...perhaps that ability was purged from them in college.
To: rolling_stone
time to check court records for a name change.. My guess is that you're going to have to go back to the late 60s/early 70s before you find any information about a name change. Newspaper searches suggest that this dude had the same name since about 1975 or so.
There are not too many Ahmad Majieds in this World.
I am sure Authentiseal will get to the bottom of this, if for anything the honor of the SEALS, which is more at issue than Majied's comments to begin with.
To: Yardstick; Travis McGee
Wow, lots of Freepers being cited recently. I sent the original thread to AP and asked them if they heard America laughing at them. Others probably did the same.
Their defense as reported here only compounds their foolishness. Where do they find these scribblers?

Ofcourse, that fact would not have surfaced had not a Freeper 'outed' the AP reporter!
Makes the story DOA!
