Thanks for the work in verifying this. I knew from the get go that the story was false. Just by one of his answers to elfman2 - SEAL school -- no such thing -- and all he had to do was give his class number -- that is something that is unclassifed and something a SEAL never forgets. Just ask my son!
This is not new either. As long ago as the late sixties the Black Panther Party was also "home" schooling.
It will now be adopted by the Islamofascists to turn out a new generation of America haters.
Part of the positive aspects of public schools is an ability to generate a social feeling for the society as a whole and, far too often, homeschooling does not do that and cannot do that since its rational is based primarily upon a contempt for the larger world. It will always be such.
No kidding. Investigative journalism? What's that? Apparently, believing someone's a straight shooter is just as good as having DOCUMENTED PROOF THAT THE GUY IS WHAT HE SAYS HE IS! My God, man. If people on the internet can find these things out so easily, so how is it that AP reporters can't seem to be bothered to investigate things, when they've got the resources of a major news organization behind them? Does ANYONE work for a living at the AP? Maybe I ought to apply for a job, there. Looks like an easy paycheck, considering that the people at the AP don't actually expect their reporters to WORK for a living!

I have passed these threads to Larry Bailey, a REAL VN SEAL, who is the head of VN Veterans For Truth. He's worked with Mr. Burchett, the author of Stolen Valor, on outing fake SEALs and other fake specops and hero types. He's "taking it for action."

An MACM is the Navy rate [rank/grade/job] for a Master Chief Petty Officer, [NCO paygrade E-9] equivalent to an Army Command Sergeant Major, as I recall. I wasn't in the Navy and wasn't a swabbie, but I played one as a Dep't of the Navy civilian employee for a couple of years in the early 1980s.
Ahmad Majied of Albany says the latest allegations about Bush's military record are more troubling to him than allegations about service honors leveled at Democratic challenger Kerry.
Majied, a Democrat from Albany who served 30 years in the Navy, including five years as a SEAL in Vietnam, said the memos support his belief that Bush was a "playboy" during his service years.
"Minor says Majied didn't give him his previous name, "and I didn't press the matter."
