From crushkerry.com
The CBS Evening News Website asks its viewers if they "Know of a scam that needs investigating?", and if so to email them for investigation. Um ... yes. As a matter of fact we do. And we encourage all Kerry Crushers to e-mail them at the address provided and report to them that a network news anchor most certainly tried to scam the country into thinking they had a "smoking gun" memo damaging to the President that is almost certainly a forgery. We really think they're going to regret having this request on their website.
You gotta just know that the person who's responsible for reading these emails is getting completely demoralized right now. They must be asking themselves "what the heck have I gotten myself into"!
Freeped! Go get 'em Tex. Do your Texas ping thing.
Just recently sent this note on to the Scam site - we'll see what kind of response (if any) I receive.....
:-)
There appears to be a scam worthy of investigating:
This scam is that of Dan Rather, of your news organization, reporting on the recent documents provided to him concerning President's Bush's TxANG service.
The documents provided are obvious forgeries and need further investigation as to their source.
Does Mr. Rather have the originals? Are the originals available for inspection and/or review? How can Mr. Rather categorically state that they are authentic if he hasn't a clue as to their origin?
This is the scam that I would strongly urge you to investigate. Failing to do so would be a blatant abidaction of your responsibility as news organization.
Respectfully,
Stefan F. Cook
Awesome! Here's the email I just sent them...
Thanks for providing this opportunity to report a serious SCAM. It appears the news magazine 60 Minutes II has put forth forged documents in an attempt to effect the outcome of the Presidential election this year! Dan Rather even came on the news Friday night to defend the false story!
It is sad to see a once respected network stoop to such partisan bias in an election year. There can be no doubt the documents used in the broadcast were forged...yet Dan Rather still stonewalls.
I would hope there is SOMEONE at CBS with an ounce of integrity left who will come forward and put an end to this travesty. You are becoming a laughing stock.
Courage,
Just emailed them - schadenfreude!
Excellent opportunity! I just sent this "tip":
I know of a scam that CBS news can investigate:
Dan Rather, on CBS 60 Minutes II, using forged documents to attack a sitting president and damage his re-election bid. I've reviewed the controversy over the documents at several websites online. I'm convinced that the documents are forgeries and that CBS attempted to scam the public and affect the election.
Good luck with your investigation into this scam. Mr. Rather appears to have locked himself in his room and will not come out and play.
Dear CBS,
A major news network as libeled the President of the United States during an election using forged documents. This news organization refuses to recognize their mistake either because they are too partisan or too stupid. I would suggest you look into this immediately.
However, keep in mind that pretty much everyone else in the entire universe besides this one organization already knows the documents are forgeries because it is so blatantly obvious so reporting that aspect may not make news.
What you could run down is who created and provided these documents to begin with. Currently, the two leading suspects are the campaign of the opposition and/or the daughter of the guy who reported the story.
Good hunting.
CBS thinks they can just hunker down and ride this thing out. WRONG!
Maybe a few years ago they could, but now with Rush, Drudge, Laura, Freepers, Sean, etc - Not A Chance.
They're gonna have to deal with this one. Hiding or running away woun't work Danny!
Done.
Here's my letter:
Dear Sirs,
Last Wednesday on "60 Minutes" report, four memos were presented for public examination and many document experts have subsequently questioned their authenticity. Enough experts on typography have said that the memos appeared to have been computer generated on equipment not available at the time, to cause me to suspect that CBS News is pulling a scam. This, coupled with CBS News' refusal to provide any background on the memo's provenance only reinforces my suspicion.
I ask that you investigate this fully.
Regards,
Wow - this is just way too much fun. Sent this:
Here's one for you - a major network news anchor is using a bunch of forged documents to try and destroy the credibility of a sitting president.
Oops - guess I'm sending this to the wrong network. Better try ABC.
My note to CBS:
Dear sirs and Madams,
A scam has come to my attention to which I suggest CBS consider turning their attention. It seems Dan Rather's recent piece on GW Bush's guard record uses so-called "documents" from 1972 that were created on Microsoft Word. If this is true, then it proves that Microsoft's plot to take over the world began much earlier than scholars originally thought, and goes a long way toward explaining why competitors like Pfs "Write" and "Volkswriter" never had a chance. Can you say paradigm shift?
sincerely,

Thta's the funniest one yet!
done.
Done. Thanks for the opportunity.
Sent a scorcher!
Mine sent in. It felt really good. ;)
