(Excerpt) Read more at eyewitnessnews4.com ...
ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - An Albuquerque Journal poll finds Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry faces an identity problem in New Mexico.
A number of voters queried in a telephone survey said they dont know him, dont like him, or dont trust him.
In a copyright story Sunday, the Journal detailed the responses from polled voters asked to describe their thoughts about Kerry and President Bush.
The top five responses for Kerry in order were dont know, not honest, indecisive, not trustworthy, and really cares about people.
On Bush, they said strong leader, wrong on Iraq, honest, good moral values, and doing a good job.

Yesssssss!!!!!!1
Come on. He's Bill Richardson without the hispanic heritage.
Identity problem? Sounds to me like they have Kerry's identity down cold.
When they DO know him, they don't like him. The identity problem is that people DO know him.
The top five responses for Kerry in order were dont know, not honest, indecisive, not trustworthy, and really cares about people. What a load of DanRather. Based on these top five responses, New Mexico knows John Kerry only too well.
Wait until they get to know him. Then they will really dislike him.
That man is so sickening and he has the gall to want to run for President while railing against George W. Bush!!!???
Good post. Welcome.

Welcome to Free Republic
I think he's going to have a little turnout problem on election day. How do you energize a base like that?
I was just thinking.. maybe the reason he's been staying away from California (aside from assuming he's a shoe-in there) is fear they WILL get to know and atart to hate him!

Prediction: Landslide
CA goes for Bush due to polls closing in other states and Bush winning heavily!
Or will the media say we dont want to report the results now until all polls are closed to further thier agenda?
I agree that there is a chance of an electoral landslide for Bush. But there is no way that he will win California? I don't live there, so I don't have an exact sense of the political pulse. Do you really think that he will win CA? Or is that just wishful thinking?
The real left wing liberals are in San Francisco. Orange County in particular in Southern California was always strongly Republican. All my friends still living in that are are still strongly Republican --except for a friends' Sister who is a retired school teacher. The NEA in So. Cal is rabidly left-wing. From what I understand from a friend who delivers steel around the State, most everyone he speaks to is voting for Bush and hate Kerry -- he said around Sacramento you don't dare mention Kerry's name.. just heresay, but sounded encouraging to me... I would be thrilled is Barbara Boxer AND Kerry lost in California! (wishful, I know)
I'm a native Californian and was just talking to a friend how Bush winning in CA would be the cherry on the top of a landslide. Historically, CA has been very Republican and, in fact, the state mirrors the rest of the country - blue counties in S.F. and surrounding areas and in L.A. with the rest overwhelming red counties. Look what happened with Arnie! If we can get rid of the voter fraud here, we definitely have a good chance. I posted this on another thread - I have 5 lifelong Democrat friends (all native) who are voting for Bush. They are pretty much 9/11 Republicans now and have become very activist for our side at this point.
CA isn't as much of a stretch as folks here like to make it out to be. Bush/Cheney were routinely within 5-6 points in 2000 before the DWI revelation and the premature Florida call had a serious negative impact. Bill Simon struggled, yet still finished within five points of an incumbent (though wildly unpopular) governor. Would I place money on Bush winning Cali? Not without some significant odds. But it's certainly possible.
