If 250,000 New York Driver's Licenses Do Not Match Social Security Data, How Many Voters are Illegally Registered?
FAIR Makes Formal Demand on New York Election Board
In light of recent revelations that New York Department of Motor Vehicles has issued as many as 250,000 driver's licenses to individuals who provided Social Security numbers that do not match information in the Social Security Administration's database, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is calling upon the state's Board of Elections to conduct a county by county review of voter rolls. Under the Motor Voter law, it is reasonable to "assume that large numbers of individuals have also been unlawfully registered to vote," state FAIR in a formal demand letter to Board of Elections Chair Carole Berman.
"After the 2000 voting fiasco in Florida, that included allegations of fraudulent voting in addition to the infamous hanging chads, it is vital that every state take precautions to prevent a repeat of the situation," cautioned Dan Stein, executive director of FAIR. "If the DMV found a quarter of a million improperly issued driver's licenses — nearly the equivalent of the population of Buffalo — there is a very strong possibility that large numbers of people are also improperly registered to vote, and may be in a position to decide a very tight election."
It is believed that a large percentage of the 250,000 individuals whose driver's license applications included erroneous Social Security information are illegal aliens. Because many people register to vote at the time they apply for a driver's license, it must be assumed by county registrars that a significant number of illegal aliens have also been added to voter rolls.
"We learned four years ago that when the integrity of the voter registration process is compromised, the outcome of elections — including the presidency of the United States — can be compromised," said Stein. "In the post-9/11 era, allowing people to obtain driver's licenses, voter registration cards and other state-issued ID is also a threat to security. It is a lesson that New Yorkers know better than anyone.
"The names and addresses of the 250,000 people identified by the DMV are right there on their licenses. It should not be a major undertaking to cross reference those names against county voter rolls," Stein continued. "What we are asking is that the Board of Elections live up to what is stated in its charter, which includes 'the preservation of citizen confidence in the democratic process and enhancement in voter participation in elections.' Making sure that illegal aliens are not casting votes in New York would seem to fit that description of the Board's responsibility." A copy of the letter can be obtained from FAIR.

I was in NYC pre-911. Just about every cab I rode in had a copy of the Koran on the dashboard.
I joked that that is why all NYC cab's park facing Mecca four times a day.

If someone else is using your SS#, the IRS will let you know, with a bill for delinquent taxes. I have a friend who has been battling this for years.

As regards the dead voting, applying for licenses and registering cars, the Social Security Death Index is online. There are newspaper obituaries, of course, but I don't think the SSDI is kept that current.
Don't think it was in New York, but there was a story awhile back about the Party Lights company letting a bunch of employees go because their SS info didn't match. The employees, I believe, were claiming they were victims of racial profiling. HA!

There is an innocent reason, also, for this to occur. Changing your name without filing for a new social security card, such as for marriage, will also show a non-match with your driver's license. This discrepancy can stay until the next license renewal time.
They ARE doing something. I was late in renewing my license recently. When I went in, I had to give them my SS#, and they said the SS# did not match with Soc Security records. I said that is weird, nothing has changed in many many years, but they kept insisting that there was a problem.
After going round and round and jumping through a bunch of hoops, the DMV finally said, oh yes, we made a mistake when we input your SS#. So they are doing some sort of cross-reference.
California is cross checking Driver's licenses information with SS#'s. I lost my driver's license last summer and went to get a duplicate. California DMV in San Diego refused to issue a new license until I went to Social Security and changed my records to reflect my "new" married name. I had been married for 18 years at the time.
It took 5 months to get the processing through even after I appealed to my State Assemblyman's office for help. California was busy at the time refunding the car tax and the DMV was swamped.
I had no valid picture ID for those months and had to travel using my expired license. I got through airport security several times before an alert TSA person in Denver caught the expired date on the license.
I'm sure a few of the boys from the neighborhood could give them some encouragement.

I am glad to see that CA is indeed doing SOMETHING about cross checking.
And several of them were registered to vote.
Probably still are, and are all voting Democrat.
