250,000 New York Driver's Licenses Do Not Match Social Security Data

If 250,000 New York Driver's Licenses Do Not Match Social Security Data, How Many Voters are Illegally Registered?

FAIR Makes Formal Demand on New York Election Board

In light of recent revelations that New York Department of Motor Vehicles has issued as many as 250,000 driver's licenses to individuals who provided Social Security numbers that do not match information in the Social Security Administration's database, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is calling upon the state's Board of Elections to conduct a county by county review of voter rolls. Under the Motor Voter law, it is reasonable to "assume that large numbers of individuals have also been unlawfully registered to vote," state FAIR in a formal demand letter to Board of Elections Chair Carole Berman.

"After the 2000 voting fiasco in Florida, that included allegations of fraudulent voting in addition to the infamous hanging chads, it is vital that every state take precautions to prevent a repeat of the situation," cautioned Dan Stein, executive director of FAIR. "If the DMV found a quarter of a million improperly issued driver's licenses — nearly the equivalent of the population of Buffalo — there is a very strong possibility that large numbers of people are also improperly registered to vote, and may be in a position to decide a very tight election."

It is believed that a large percentage of the 250,000 individuals whose driver's license applications included erroneous Social Security information are illegal aliens. Because many people register to vote at the time they apply for a driver's license, it must be assumed by county registrars that a significant number of illegal aliens have also been added to voter rolls.

"We learned four years ago that when the integrity of the voter registration process is compromised, the outcome of elections — including the presidency of the United States — can be compromised," said Stein. "In the post-9/11 era, allowing people to obtain driver's licenses, voter registration cards and other state-issued ID is also a threat to security. It is a lesson that New Yorkers know better than anyone.

"The names and addresses of the 250,000 people identified by the DMV are right there on their licenses. It should not be a major undertaking to cross reference those names against county voter rolls," Stein continued. "What we are asking is that the Board of Elections live up to what is stated in its charter, which includes 'the preservation of citizen confidence in the democratic process and enhancement in voter participation in elections.' Making sure that illegal aliens are not casting votes in New York would seem to fit that description of the Board's responsibility." A copy of the letter can be obtained from FAIR.

Now that I posted this link to several previous threads, I figured I'd do it the right way. :)

I figure this should happen in all 50 states.

few years ago, I received an email from the DNV in NY telling me my registration of car was being sent to me. live in texas so I emailed them and told them I do not live in NY. They responded by saying they must have made a mistake by sending notice to the wrong email address.
Now you have me really thinking here. Will call on Monday and see what they have on my name. Thanks for the scarey reminder.

Ergo, 250,000 New York voter registrations are potentially fradulent. Thank you motor-voter law.

wealthy Dems in Westchester are already up in arms that thair nannies and domestic workers might lose their licenses.

California is dealing with this right now.

I'm in California. Does that mean our state is undertaking a cross-referencing of driver's licenses and social security numbers to check for validity? If so, I'm thrilled ... but I haven't heard anything about it.

Vote in the manner proscribed by the DEMORAT block captain, if you really reside in New York. Otherwise, send your absentee ballot to the block captain for completion and duplication.

Almost everyone I know in NYC is reistered to vote in 2 states. None of them have ever voted twice. They claim residences out of state for cheaper auto insurance premiums.

I am waiting for the right circumstances to arise where some of the one man one vote rhetoric and legal precedent of the civil rights era can be applied to this issue. I think it's pathetic that one eligible voter has, in effect, .9873 votes (or some other fractional value significantly different from, and less than one) just because a bunch of felons, non-citizens or others properly ineligible to vote were processed by a blind deaf and dumb bureaucracy. We have six-sigma quality standards for making doorknobs - why not for the voting process?

Now I understand why Kerry is accusing the Republicans of trying to supress Blacks and others to be able to vote!

The Democrats are want illegal immigrants, and those who have lost their right to vote because they were convicted of felonies to be able to vote. And who ever this group is, is trying to make sure only "legal" voters vote!

I wonder what the polling data is on Bush versus Kerry if rather than registered voters, rather than likely voters, it is legally registered voters likely to vote.....?

Inquiring minds want to know!
