Finally, I will be able to go out and rob a bank and randomly shoot people. I been waiting for this for years.

'Tis a beautiful thing.

Where are all the girlie men who wrung their hands in outrage because Ari Fleischer once said that Bush would sign the AWB renewal if it hit his desk?
It was the Republican Congress's job to keep it from hitting his desk, and they did.
Bush ignored the AWB renewal to death. That was the plan. It worked beautifully.

Starting at 10:00pm, there will be a gathering in front of the New Hampshire State House in Concord to celebrate the end of the ban.

It would be appreciated if someone with sound legal expertise could post a learned item about the legal status of those firearms produced during the past ten dark years. Will they continue to have some sort of special status that would prevent the installation of bayonet lugs, flash hiders, pistol grips, collapsible stocks, etc.? Or will it be as if the AWB never existed?
Thank you.

I didn't have quite the faith in Congess that you did. A year ago, I would have said that an extension was close to a sure thing. I'm glad I was wrong. Political ploy or not, I'm also glad W never had the opportunity to sign it. I believe W is an honest man, and he never gave me any reason to believe he was lying about this. Given how horrendously bad Kerry is on the 2nd Amendment and national security, I would have voted for Bush anyway, but now I can do so without the AWB cloud over it, and I'm very happy about that.

When it expires, I will run outside and fire my pistol in the air :-)
